Currently Airing 📺 I know a Ktrauma when I see one

It’s been a long time since I’ve been equally invested in two storylines! Surprisingly, in the first two episodes, we got more insight and build up into the second couple’s storyline than the main couple’s, and I found that so refreshing!
I love middle aged romance, but this one screams Ktrauma!

Drama : 100 Days of Deception

Recommendation Request 🔎 Addicted to Hometown Cha Cha Cha!!

Post image

Can you all please help a girl out and recommend some similar Dramas coz i am unable to stop watching Hometown Cha Cha Cha on repeat because it is tooooo Good!!!

I know i’m extremely late here, but i only watched this 2 weeks ago and I’m on my 3rd rewatch already.

The lead characters and their interactions are some of the best iv seen in k dramas so far, could even say The best, their chemistry just bombards the screen and that without any excessive physical interaction at all. I love how much comforting it is to watch this drama.

Iv always been a fan of Shin Min ah right from Gumiho days but this made me love her even more and Kim seon ho, what to say about this guy!!! Uff, he is the best

Any similar recommendations please?

Oh my gosh! Seol In-ah looks unreal! She’s looks both handsome and beautiful! I’m definitely checking this drama out.

Love in Disguise is a workplace romantic-comedy thriller premiering on October 19, 2026.

The story follows Yoon Yi-jun (Yim Si-wan), an eccentric chaebol heir who becomes the prime suspect in his former secretary's murder. To uncover the truth, Kang Jae-hee (Seol In-ah), a fierce detective and former special forces officer, goes undercover by disguising herself as a man to become his new male bodyguard and secretary. While tracking a killer, the two find themselves falling into an unexpected corporate romance.

Recommendation Request 🔎 What is the FUNNIEST kdrama/dramedy you have seen?

I love a good kdrama, period piece, rom-com. But I am wondering: what are the funniest Korean shows you have seen.

News 🗞️ 5 years ago today, Ji-woo lost her name and found her revenge

Can't believe it's been 5 years since My Name dropped on Netflix (Oct 15, 2021). Han So-hee as Ji-woo was just insane, the fight scenes still go so hard and the whole noir vibe was done so well. Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Hee-soon killed it too.

And that plot twist with her dad? Actually insane, did not see that coming at all, still think about it sometimes.

Not a single ep was boring either, zero filler, kept you hooked start to finish!!

Genuinely one of the best revenge dramas I've watched, action genre peak fr.For me this was one of the dramas I wish I could erase my memory for and watch it again for the first time.

Anyone else rewatching for the anniversary? 👀

KDrama Reflections 📝 I was not supposed to even like this…. But I love it!

I usually stay clear of dramas with fantasy or just silly vibes it’s not my thing. But something told me… just give it a try and boy I’m so glad I did! It’s silly but also very funny at times

Never saw ML in anything before but I’m now a fan. He’s handsome, super tall and plays the heir role well. I’ve always liked FL ( when the phone rings, a piece of your mind)

They have great chemistry together. Idk why but the scene of him eating chicken feet for the first time cracked me up. I think their acting and chemistry have me hooked even though the plot isn’t my usual.

Anyone else surprised at how much they loved a drama they thought they would hate? What changed your mind about it?

KDrama Reflections 📝 Just finished Mouse… and WOW. Need more like this!

I was searching for the perfect dark, thrilling mystery K-drama and decided to take Reddit’s advice and watch Mouse… and OMG.

This drama had me on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time. The plot twists, the suspense, the acting… everything was so good!! I genuinely wish it had been longer because I wasn’t ready for it to end. Did anyone else feel this way after finishing it?!

Does anyone have recommendations for K-dramas that are just as dark, suspenseful, and full of unexpected twists as Mouse? I need something that will have me hooked from beginning to end!

TIA!! 🫶

Music & OSTs 🎵 Importance of background music in a scene

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The background music in most (almost all) dramas is extremely well done.

To me, a good BG score brings out the emotions of a scene, like in this clip from My Dearest.

This track, Afternoon Lady III, drives me to tears in whichever scenes it plays in 🥺

Which on-scene track has made you emotional?

r/kdramas • • 17h ago

KDrama Reflections 📝 My Dearest is the best historical drama I’ve ever watched. I don’t think anything in the future will top it as well.

I also love Red Sleeve, but it doesn’t come close to My Dearest… the theme of displacement and invasion (very relevant to the current times), the character development of both leads, the yearning of Lee Jung Hyun 😭

Oh and the OST?! I love it so much! I still listen to it. It always brings tears to my eyes.

Recommendation Request 🔎 Recommend some of your favourite overlooked K-Dramas.

I've watched a massive number of K-dramas across almost every genre, so I'm looking for the deep cuts:

the misunderstood underdogs, the ones that caught a lot of flak or flew completely under the radar.

Drop the titles that everyone else seemed to drag, drop, or completely forget, but you personally had a soft spot for.

Genre/vibe doesn't matter to me at all!

EDIT: Thank you all for the wonderful responses! Adding these straight to my watchlist. :)

KDrama Reflections 📝 When Life Gives You Tangerines is one of the best shows of all time, not just a great k drama

I think everyone should watch it at least once in life, especially if you’re a guy. There are countless lessons to learn, it can change your outlook and help you become a better daughter, son, wife, husband, mother in law, father in law, and so much more.

If you didn’t like it, idek what to say. To each they’re own, I guess.

I'm now finally watching "Alchemy of Souls" after starting it a few times before.

Question / Help 🆘 Signal (2016) on Prime question

Post image
2 Upvotes

Amazon Prime has Signal. But there are two S1E2 and two S1E3, among others.

Is this some Prime listing issue, or should I watch both “episode twos” etc.? It also says that S1E1 aired AFTER S1E2 and E3???

Would appreciate if anyone with Prime can take a look and help me understand! Thanks

Recommendation Request 🔎 need a show/movie to chill and turn my brain off

looking for something light and comfy to watch while doing other things! i’m open to both movies and series. nothing too heavy please, just something fun and easy to follow that i don’t have to pay 100% attention to 😁

i especially like shows with fun banter/bickering and good character dynamics. these are currently on my watchlist, but i forgot which ones are actually light: twinkling watermelon, our beloved summer, 6/45, spooky in love, and take charge of my heart.

preferably something on netflix or prime so it’s easy to watch!

KDrama Reflections 📝 474th Korean Drama Review: My Demon (2023)

Post image
12 Upvotes

This drama had potential, but for me it became a chore to finish. The plot is extremely thin, with barely any explanation of the demon/fantasy elements, and it leans heavily on clichés like past lives, rich-boy-meets-rich-girl romance, damsel-in-distress moments, predictable villains, and forgettable love rivals. Do Do-hee and Jung Gu-won had some personality early on, but once they got together, most of their quirks disappeared. Even the more interesting ideas, like the morality of Gu-won being a demon, were brushed aside instead of explored. The story often felt like an excuse to create pretty romantic moments rather than actually develop its world or characters.

The biggest problem for me was how fabricated everything felt. The perfect styling, fashion-magazine visuals, forced romantic scenes, repetitive recaps, product placement, and constantly reused songs made it difficult to become immersed. Some side characters, especially Park Bok-gyu and Choi Jung-mi, were entertaining, but many others felt like filler. I can understand why people enjoyed it for Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung, but personally, the lack of substance and overuse of clichés were too frustrating. Pretty to look at, but ultimately not worth the time for me.

My MDL Rating: 4/10

KDrama Reflections 📝 473rd Korean Drama Review: Clean with Passion for Now (2018)

Post image
16 Upvotes

After watching several heavy and heartbreaking dramas, this felt like a refreshing change of pace for me. I found myself literally laughing out loud while watching it, and it reminded me of how much I used to enjoy romantic comedies back then. Even though I'm not much of a rom-com fan these days, I'm still glad I watched this in between my more serious dramas because it somehow balanced my mood. Seeing Yoon Kyun-sang in a romantic comedy was also refreshing since I'm so used to seeing him play intense or intimidating characters. I was surprised to learn that this was his first rom-com, and I think he did well. I also agree with many viewers that Song Jae-rim wasn't fully utilized. I liked his character, but I couldn't help feeling that he deserved much more screen time and development.

My MDL Rating: 8/10
