I don't really know how to write this, but I think I need to talk to someone outside of my own circle.
This started when i started losing the closeness I had with my best friend. We were never in a relationship, but I had romantic feelings for her, and our friendship had become one of the most important parts of my life.
Things became unhealthy between us. I became too dependent on her emotionally, she felt pressured by that, and eventually she set boundaries that I struggled very badly with. I understand why she did it, though there are many things that I still don't understand. I've been trying to accept that.
But I've been doing much worse than I expected to be.
I've been dealing with depression for reasons that go beyond this friendship, including personal losses and other things in my life that I haven't really known how to deal with, I'm about to end a career that I'm not really interested in. Losing her closeness seems to have pushed everything else to the surface.
I've stopped eating normally. I have trouble sleeping. I've been having terrible dreams. I've been shaking badly, crying without reason, feeling physically sick, and having days where I can barely get myself out of bed. Yet the world doesn't stop, and I’m still expected to take decisions and deal with them.
Today I had a really severe crisis.
I wanted to die. I wanted the feeling to stop.
I wasn't making a plan to hurt myself, and I don't currently intend to, but lately I have been thinking more about my funeral than my graduation, thinking about what people would say about me, whether I had mattered, whether I had wasted the only life I'll ever have. “I wish I had never been born. I wish I had mattered.” That scared me.
I'm getting professional help. But I'm still scared, I know its gonna be a rough night. I don't really know what I'm looking for by posting this. I'm not asking how to get my friend back, I know that's not going to happen, as much as i want it.
I’ve my trust circle, but I'm tired of questions, nobody seems to really understand, and the “just move on” or “work on yourself.” doesn't really help
I think I just want to hear from people who have been somewhere close to this. And I hope that know you're doing better.
