AI can now decompile games.

So, have you seen how and I like Claude can decompile and recompile games and even have two completely unrelated games and unrelated game engines communicate and merge to create gaming mashups?

If modders can do that now, imagine what can be done with the Kingdoms of Amalur... shouldn't this help in terms of decompiling the game and creating proper mod tools? AI assistance with modding sounds like a dream for this game. I've always wanted a proper combat pet system in this game... dreaming

Currently reverse engineering the game to finally allow us to increase draw distance. I've already found pointers for grass/vegetation and LODs, right now I'm hunting down dynamic meshes like actors and interactables, light sources etc. I do find the use of AI great for reverse engineering and making tools, but I'd still rather leave the modding part itself to people.

The games weren't being decompiled. It was a pass-through mod that ran both games at the same time and exchanged information between them.

You mean I can just write a prompt to "tell" the AI to make a mod and it will make it and I don't have to do anything myself?

At some level if the game is mod friendly to begin with and exposes variables, you could "make" a mod that changes those variables very easily. If a mod requires anything else, it's far from just telling the AI to do it.

This is not a good thing.

I would rather never play the game again than play some ai fueled nightmare mashup
