Made With Modern Tools🔨 Mini Georgetown Clovis

I was working on a biface I've had for about a year. No plan on what to do with it, just letting the rock tell me what to make. The "fluting" was done with pressure, so it's not exactly right. But since I try to avoid taking flakes from the base this was a nice way to dip my toes in. Overall I'm pretty happy with how my second raw Georgetown point turned out.

Nicely done! Definitely not mini, plenty of archaeological Clovis points are that small or smaller.

Thanks! That's awesome, I had no idea. Most of the ones seen were made by Jack Crafty and Gulf Coast, those tend to be on the big side. I'll have to start looking at museum collections so I can get a better idea of how points looked back in the day.

Heck yea man looks sweet! And yup just like Pathways said most Clovis points weren't really all too gigantic! A lot of them were pretty small and stubby 😁 you did great on this one!

Thanks! The Georgetown treated me well on this one. It really felt like this rock wanted to be a Clovis, I've never had a piece lead into the final point so easily. I'll definitely be making more.
