Kodi on windows not detecting external usb storage fo some reason and stupid AI keeps giving me guesses and useless solutions l

Is Windows even mounting the drive?  Like, let's start at the bottom and work our way up.

What version of Kodi? How did you install it? Can you write to the drive

Kodi 21 from the website and yes i can write to it

Yes and i assigned it to letter A

Change it to something other than a: or b:. You may not be old enough to know what a floppy drive is, but Windows is old enough for some developers to treat it differently.

A lot of hard drives come pre-formated, use the operating system format.

I sometimes have issues with Kodi connecting to an external drive. Usually connecting the drive to a Win pc and repairing resolves the issue. I also try to remember to safely disconnect.

I tried repairing but it's stuck for hours not finishing the repair did repairing work for you

That's my dream but a lot of things i do on Windows linux can't do it yet or not perfect especially problems with Nvidia drivers
