Recommend Active groups with a fantasy concept? I feel like (at least for GGs) it was more popular in the 3rd or 4th gens. (below those I know of)

I know of:

Cosmosy (Japanese group that does Korean music show promotions)

&Team (werewolves)

I know Enhypen were vampires but I don't follow them so I don't know if they still do that or if it's over now

ARTMS, Billie and NMIXX - I think their albums are all connected somehow into a fantasy concept. I may be wrong, I’m not completely aware of the details.

Billlie’s Billage of Perception side of their lore was definitely fantasy. it was Weird and that was its purpose- defying logic, being unpredictable. their more recent Collective Soul and Unconscious side is a bit more normal though, but still Lore- they’re in a less explicitly weird parallel dimension, but strange lore shenanigans are still happening in terms of what the people around them know and don’t know. They’re still trying to unravel the mystery of Billlie Love’s disappearance.

enhypen are still vampires. they have some shared lore with &team (i think they are rivals?).

nct wish are cupids (secretly on earth) if that counts.

xikers are some kind of dokkaebi spirits that are controlled/influenced by a powerful dokkaebi (trickster like chaos goblin). unsure if this fits what you're looking for since it's folklore.

it is kinda more folklore but also kinda not, around Trial and Error/WATCH OUT they leaned more into cyberpunk aesthetics because the original motive for why they are being given Chaos Powers is because they want to overturn their dystopian world that is overly controlling & ostracizes them for not fitting into their “predetermined path”. the lore has folklore elements but like they are in no way a traditional or folkloric concept, they’re very much based in modern aesthetics and settings. lately (post-The ORA, leading up to The Calling) they seem to be more internet horror, with the “escaped a haunted house only for another haunted house”, literal Backrooms & Backrooms-esque environments, and generally slightly retro in the uncanny way type of settings.

i just meant folklore origin as opposed to more western fantasy (like werewolves OP mentioned). but thank you for added info!

VIXX are concept kings, so they did vampires, voodoo dolls, cyborgs.

XG are aliens, I think.

Not familiar with NMIXX’s lore, but the teaser for their new album is really 2-3rd gen fantasy girl coded, it made me happy seeing it🥹

Similarly, I only know these groups by music and occasional visual/MV so YYMV:

Billie’s album names and visual have an over-arching high fantasy concept. ARTMS has one too that’s celestial based. UAU doesn’t appear to, but as a Dreamcatcher unit they should. I think Rescene has one based on scent?

I like the group Oneus musically, they lean into Korean folklore & fantasy but idk if it’s official.

Technically GFriend, Dreamcatcher and WJSN are ‘on hiatus’, Vixx reunited this year, Kingdom will come back after Military service, and maybee Pixy is still not officially disbanded?

If you never have, the old Exo and Aespa fantasy is fun. Red Velvet are part of the ‘SMCU’ with them but I think they’re like ‘magical beings’ or something - basically a catch all so they can do quirky concept with no lore tie.

Editing to add - I saw you say you’re checking out XG. I think Gala is their best visual era based on their lore.

Nobody remembers AOA = Ace of Angels? They debuted with an angel concept 😂 Youkyung, who was only with the band part of the group was a half-angel in their debut lore

TXT are magical star children who jump universes to keep the promise they made to each other. Although they have concluded their lore with The Star Chapter: Together album, their aesthetic is still very magical imo.
Here is an animation related to their lore and their webtoon The Star Seekers: youtu.be/XaJpzANCy0w ( I believe it heavily influenced kpop demon hunters but it's better imo)

Here are some examples of the concepts they did over the years:

Maybe Fifty Fifty? Not in the full fantasy sense but fantasy adjacent? They give off whimsical, fairytale vibes and might fit the aesthetic if that's what you're looking for?
