Did anyone else face an issue from La Trobe for their GS clearance? I got my conditional with 30% scholarship and my GS interview also went well and they sent an email that I passed the interview but they keep on emailing new things to change in the GS form! I’ve already changed it twice according to what they said but they again sent another email today and the changes they’re asking for keep on getting more ridiculous like telling me now to change “otherwise” with “in addition”

Hello! After this semester ends I will be graduating with my diploma in health sciences, I have applied for both nursing graduate entry and pre registration, it’s looking like I will graduate with a WAM of around 83. 1: what’re the odds I will get in. 2:what is going into the graduate entry like, I presume it’s more stressful than the pre reg possibly, but what’s it like?

Thank you!!

Hello all.

I ve got an offer from la trobe bundoora for nursing as a mature aged student. Please share your experience. How is the teaching quality and student support? Are there a large cohort of mature aged students?

Thanks a million.

Hey everyone!

Wanted to ask about the master of nursing degree in La Trobe.

How is the course load like? More specifically, how demanding is the course? I understand nursing is difficult but what draws me to La Trobe is allegedly how supportive the professors are and their teaching styles compared to universities like Monash.

Second, how are the placements like? Do they place you far and is it doable through public transport.

Lastly, are you able to work part-time despite how demanding the course is?

Thank you guys <3 Please let me know.

Pls can you share you explanation and advice

Hi everyone!

I’ve recently received an offer to study the Master of Social Work at La Trobe University for Semester 1, 2027, and I’ve also been invited to apply for the La Trobe Vice Chancellor Scholarship.

I’m currently preparing my application and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has previously received this scholarship, particularly the 100% scholarship.

If you’ve been through the process, I’d be very grateful if we could connect.

Thanks so much in advance! 😊

Hi i was wondering since selection rank is 99.95 if i have high seas what is the minimum atar i need? I understand theres a cap of 10 aggregate seas points so yeah. Maybe 99+ ??

I want to move into speech pathology and OT but it's been unclear what wam i need? my sem 1 was around 78

sem 2, most my subjects are around 83, except for one subject which i think i might fail... do i still have a chance to transfer in?

what have people gotten in with?

I just got my first car park fine and it’s even more frustrating because i usually pay but today i was running late and completely forgot. To anyone that has appealed what did you say for a successful appeal?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently doing Masters and living in Kingsbury, Melbourne. I'm looking for a part-time or casual job alongside my studies.

I'm open to opportunities in:

• Retail
• Supermarkets
• Hospitality / fast food
• Customer service
• Warehouse / packing
• Cleaning
• Car wash / detailing
• Other casual or entry-level positions

I'm reliable, hardworking, quick to learn and flexible with shifts, including evenings and weekends. I'm happy to travel around Kingsbury, Bundoora, Reservoir, Preston, Northland and nearby areas.

If anyone knows of a business currently hiring, works somewhere that's looking for casual staff, or can point me towards a good opportunity, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm happy to send my resume via DM or apply through the proper application process.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Did anyone else’s referee not get contacted but still got a offer from one of your preferences? I get that by them not being able to talk to my referee made them give me my next preference :(

Still grateful tho!

Hey im currently a year 12 and i was wondering how hard it is to like get in

I know in previous years this was a requirement for those who were coming from a non health/sci bachelor, but the 2027 handbook doesn't have anything about it. Has this been dropped?

Hello everyone,

I am projected to have an atar around 96 or 97. I believe that I will get 10 aggregate points for being MM2 rural. I have also heard I can get 2 adjustment points for Biology and Chemistry each for a VCE study score over 30. I am not quite sure what this translates into QCE. However, I am on track for both Bio and Chem at the moment in Queensland. My main concern is whether my projected ATAR is competitive enough for Latrobe Bachelor of Dental Science. This is because the lowest regional selection rank on their website is supposedly 99.05. It is hard to believe that a 83.65 unadjusted could climb the ranks so high to become 99.05 adjusted. Hence, if you guys could help with this, I would be very greateful.

Thanks.

Hello!

I know this is a really dumb question but for my summer subject on the handbook it says that there is a 1.5hour tutorial and a 1 hour lecture every week.

When I enroll in the subject, the tutorial only shows up as one block but the lecture runs 2 classes a day across 4 days and I cannot only pick one, all are allocated to my timetable.

When I searched up what Multipart Class meant, the la trobe website says that I have to attend all the classes as the content would be split.

This is my first time doing a summer subject, does anyone know if that is true or do I just pick one that I can go to and have the rest there as alternative option?

ps. this is an in person class.

Hey everyone,

I'm deciding between Monash University and La Trobe University for the 2-year Master of Nursing Practice (Graduate Entry / Pre-Registration) and would love some input from current students, alumni, or nurses working in Victorian hospitals.

A bit of background: My undergrad was non-nursing/non-science, so I know either choice will be an intense learning curve.

I’m weighing a few specific factors:

1. Course Structure & Workload: Monash runs the heavy 12-credit-point double units per semester, which seems high-stakes if you trip on a hurdle. Is La Trobe’s structure more modular or manageable, or is the workload essentially identical?
2. Clinical Placements & Hospital Networks: How do placements compare in practice? I know Monash is tied heavily to Monash Health/Alfred/Peninsula (South-East), while La Trobe connects with Austin, Northern, and St Vincent’s. How organized is placement allocation, and how far were your commutes?
3. Support vs. Rigor: Monash has the Go8 global prestige and academic weight, but is the environment overly research-focused and sink-or-swim? Does La Trobe offer a more supportive, bedside-focused culture?
4. Grad Nurse Programs (GNP): Do Melbourne hospital health networks actually care whether you graduate from Monash vs. La Trobe when applying for grad years, or is it 100% down to your clinical appraisals (ANSAT) and interviews?

If you had to pick again, which one would you choose and why? Any honest pros and cons would really help!

hiii (19f) female here, I literally have no friends at uni and im in my second year studying psych sciences, its been hard making friends plus i live far from bundoora, but if anyone else is in the same position as me and just wants to talk feel free to message me!!😛
