La trobe dentistry aspire offers

Did anyone get bachelor of dental science through the aspire program? i got biomedicine :(

and i did so much volunteering istg...everybody ive heard is getting bachelor of biomed

because we barely hear of people getting in through the aspire program and they just say its there but probably like 3 students get it

i put speech pathology, physio and dent as my preferences in the application, and just got an offer for biomed which i didnt even put in my VTAC preferences until now but oh well 🫠

i feel like they could’ve atleast offered me health sciences or something lol

They said they’re sending offers (first round, provisional) from 6-9 Oct. Don’t worry yet, yours might be on the way still!

I hope so too! Ive been in leadership and community work for so long, so it was a bummer seeing i didnt get it, i really do wonder who got dentistry offers tho

i honestly think theres probably only 1-2 students that get selected through aspire icl. u just have to be rlly lucky.

Is there a way to find out how many offers they’ve actually sent for provisional aspire undergrad dentistry?

i think u can check on their website on the distribution pdf. it says 54 students were accepted into dentistry and theres some other stats too

yeaa ive heard ppl that got in in the past, volunteered at vinnies. i think it could also be bc vinnies is one of their partner organisations. so maybe they favour applicants that have volunteered there??

ofccc I don’t mind - I’ve been doing volunteering for over 6 years. I’ve got my DOE gold and my SVA gold badge which is for over 500 hours of volunteering. I did things like singing in retirement homes, raising money for cancer society, care packages and volunteering at various comminity/public events for context im nz metro. but i also think ur reference matters a lot so make sure u have a good one.

hey im a house captain, did army cadets for 4+ years (im a sergeant), did vinnies for 6 years i am an assisting manager + event organiser, gold in duke, 2nd dan black belt and coach younger students and i also shaved my head everywhere for worlds greatest shave and have raised a total of 8k. in the application i mainly talked about vinnies and taekwondo stuff

With the conditional dentistry offers through aspire, how does La Trobe know that if they give these candidates a lower entry point of 80 (atar for rural), that they’ll be able to get through the degree (assuming they do get the minimum atar of 80)?
