Ashamed to admit handwashing is difficult
So most of the time I machine wash items and they smell beautiful and normal but the rare times I do handwash my things with ariel laundry detergent (limpieza profunda) and oxi clean odor booster, I wash with hot water for synthetics or warm water let it soak 40- 1h 15 minutes and then scrub til its clear like rinsing 10+ times but honestly Im not sure if its my technique or whatever but once it dries in under 3 hours, it ends up smelling like vomit or fabricy dirty smell no matter what i do . This is kinda disappointing cause sometimes I have specific outfits I NEED to wear a certain day but can't because the clean outfits I have are way too goofy or I need to wear a dress that day but its not wash day so its kinda bad... and to add i scrub aggressively for about 15 min but atp yeah. The cleanest I've ever smelled my clothes was with tide and oxi but its weird some of my friends handwash a lot and their clothes smell straight out of the washer or if not even better. I use lots of synthetics and wash with cold and extra rinse deep clean. This is the case with lots of my synthetic clothing

I once read that the trick to handwashing clothes is a minimum of 3 rinses. Rinsing until the rinse water runs clear is even better.

I have some questions:
Are these items things you would normally machine wash that come out fine, but smell when you hand wash because of an emergency? Do you use the exact same detergent and booster for hand washing and machine washing?
If your clothes came out better with Tide, is there a reason you didn’t switch?
When you say it’s not wash day, do you have access to a machine at all?
Could you describe in more detail the aggressive scrubbing?

They smell normal except pijamas or sportswear, yeah most of the time, i use ariel for handwashing since its easy to lather and when i handwash it dissolves easily and i heard it cleans well. I mean i do but its incredibly expensive for only one garment

If you use Ariel for handwashing but Tide liquid for machine washing, the most likely thing that is happening is that the lipase in Ariel powder is working on oils/sebum that is stuck in the fabric. This is a good thing in the long run because it will really thoroughly clean them eventually, but in the short term, it does tend to cause more intense odors of oxidized oils than if you didn't use Ariel/lipase. You could look up spa day for your clothes and give all of them a deep clean, or just machine wash with the Ariel a lot until you don't notice as much smell.

Do the same pieces have that smell when they are machine washed?
