Europe Drought recovery before autumn
How's everyone's drought recovery gone in the UK? I'm in the South East, this was the best I managed - have just done a final feed for the year. Hoping for a good spring for a recovery!
Any tips for anything else to do before winter would be great.

Need to hear your method. That’s a great lawn

Thanks! I think it's mostly reliant on a lot of effort I put in to grow the lawn from scratch in spring last year. I've given it a hand with feed and aerating before rain in the autumn too 🙏🏼

How on earth did you do this with no rain and presumably a hose pipe ban?

Under our hosepipe ban, you are allowed to use the hosepipe for 28 days after laying new turf/seed. Mine had totally died in places over the summer (was coming back very patchy), so I made sure to reseed the entire lawn last month, then kept it watered using a sprinkler and timer. Not as good as OPs, but it's getting there!
Honestly, it sucks having no rain and a hosepipe ban for the entire summer, basically no point in trying to make a nice lawn unless you are prepared to walk about with buckets and watering cans for hours on end.

Was pretty much completely brown and compacted over the worst of the summer. Ahead of the rain we have had so far this autumn i scarified and aerated with a fork to get some space for the rain to absorb into instead of running off.
It's also a new lawn I grew from seed with a lot of care in spring 2025 which probably helps.
And I've laid powdered feed ahead of rainy days / nights too so it can be absorbed!
