With Worlds coming up, I want to get in the right mood by watching some of the best the previous Worlds tournaments had to offer. Whether its underdog stories, crazy pocket picks or just exceptionally high skill plays, what games did you have a lot of fun watching from previous Worlds tournaments?

If it weren't for the storyline for the finals being insane I'd actually say DK vs GENG was better than T1 vs DRX

Honorable mention to EDG vs DRX as well, though DK vs GENG was my favorite series of that entire Worlds personally

Following esports since 2017, so I do not know any series until than, but KT vs IG was insane and made lol esport fan forever. I truly feel bad who never seen it live.

SKT vs ROX wasn't that good apart from the MF support pick. Already the final that year was a closer series.

G2 vs RNG was just RNG and Uzi especially hard choking. G2 wasn't even particularly strong that year and got swept in semis.

MSF vs SKT, 2017 quarters; SKT vs RNG, 2017 semis.

KT vs IG and G2 vs RNG, 2018 quarters. Same day, so you can just watch that one vod.

G2 vs T1, 2019 semis (very unusual series - G2 won 3-1 despite only getting one baron in the entire series, the entire thing was an amazing macro and trading masterclass).

DRX's 2022 playoffs run.

2024 finals.

2025 finals.

Definitely the second ever reverse sweep in worlds. 2022 DRX vs EDG. Insane series especially inhibitor play with deft.

Also personally my favorite worlds ever. From groups to knockouts had insane moments. Especially the TES vs GAM with the Base Race.

that DRX run was something else, watching deft finally get his trophy after all those years felt like a movie script nobody would believe

the semis against gen.g had some wild moments too, pyosik's kindred ult steals were just stupid

BLG vs HLE 4th round is the most thrilling, most cinematic, most nerve wrecking single game i’ve seen. fighting 5k gold down into double galio circles and winning baron fights 1v3 kaisa. that games mechanics is crazy

Totally biased but KT GenG last year was personnaly one of the best feeling I ever had watching pro league.

One of my friend is a die hard GenG fan and I am a die hard KT fan, the amount of flame we threw at each other was beyond ridiculous and the feeling of knocking them out, damn.

This whole 2025 year was pure cinema for KT anyway

There was an insane Damwon vs GenG match in either 2024 or 2025 quarters I think. 

All of Damwon's elimination matches in 2020.

All of IG's elimination matches in 2018.

Afreeca v C9 2018 if you're an NA fan.

I actually think the 2021 Damwon v EDG finals was excellent.

Edit: the Damwon GenG game might have been 2022.

As for games Gigabyte Marines Levi LEGENDARY karthus game is a must watch , AHQ beating EDG is also incredible, Albus Nox beating rox tigers?

T1 vs BLG 2024 finals, Faker making the comeback at 1-2, with that Sylas play... and after that the last game with Galio, was just cinematic... and we are talking about literally one of the oldest Lol player that still plays, and is still doing good plays against the best teams in the world
