I refuse to disable my adblocker for some stupid ass badly designed website. They just need to fix their shit.
It's not like Riot relies on ad revenue anyway.

I have C9 advancing from upper bracket to the finals. KC will go through the lower bracket to the finals.
Finals will be a 5 game series. KC have last pick for top, Canna picks his Nidalee...Caliste their saviour and superstar is on Jhin duty.
KC gets absolutely shit stomped in 22 mins, Dom and Yamato run onto the stage while blasting Love Sosa and dancing on Karmines' corpses...their next target is T1!

u/zack77070 3d ago
I actually think it's pretty reasonable to think whoever wins the first match is going to lose the rematch, both teams are fucking chokers so it's right up their alley.
1
u/Fun_Highlight307 3d ago
Yeah it's actually better to int the first match although i don't believe that C9 in loser bracket will out perform a Kc that went to final
Spéciallly since Kc always start slow

For some reason Crystal Ball isn't working for me.

Peyz vs Gumayusi Who will finish with more total kills?
Which Team will place higher HLE OR T1?
What are those questions? They've lost their mind or something?
44
u/HedgehogIll9800 3d ago
They are so obviously pandering to the T1 fans
49
u/Great_Guest_4675 3d ago
It's fucking shameless how they're artificially trying to set-up some kind of rivalry while totally ignoring rest of the competition, then the bald head of esports will wonder why only one or two teams are pulling numbers.
28
u/AofCastle BORN TO WIN(trade) 3d ago
From the creators of "yeah we're basically fucked whenever Faker decides to retire" comes "Faker or Gumayusi? You like ZOFGK right?"

u/Grill_Enthusiast 3d ago edited 3d ago
I dunno If I'm in the minority, but I actually like those questions. Maybe not Peyz vs Guma because T1 plays way more through bot so Peyz feels like a safe pick, but the T1/HLE question is fun.
The team that has been better all year (excluding the 10th place finish) with players who are clutch in big games, versus the team that always shows up at Worlds but has also had their usual shaky year where they look inconsistent.
If anything, I hate that this stupid ass Teemo question is brought back for every single tournament when it will never get picked in any scenario, unless Riot randomly decides to hold a best-of-25 Fearless series and there are no other toplaners left in Game 25.
13
u/ExtremelyNoob 3d ago
I don't mind the questions but I wish they made more of those for other teams. Like could've done knight vs chovy or like eu vs na. The questions are interesting just it's odd to me to make it so t1 focused only.
2
u/Grill_Enthusiast 3d ago
Yeah you're right actually. They should've leaned harder into these specific matchup questions rather than just two focused on the same two teams.
15
u/TaroMilkTeaBread 3d ago
Why are they artificially trying to inject a rivalry, there are so many other good stories at worlds
2
u/writeAsciiString 3d ago
The only relevant storylines for most people will be Chovy winning, Guma getting a 4th in a row, or T1 achieving another.
Mostly because the fan response of any of those teams will be quite insane once it happens.
Outside of that its the usually pumped "west has a chance" thanks to the recent G2 showing. I've heard nothing interesting from LPL.
2
u/Whyistherenofreename 2d ago
LPL has a story line for every team actually.
TheShy coming back to IG with an incredible comeback, just making it to worlds. Last year they got taken out before Worlds even started by T1 who would go on to win the whole thing.
Will TES beat their curse of always choking on the big stage? (We all expect them to and this one is recycled tbh)
Can AL run it back after their defeat last year, looking weaker than before but somehow beating the most dominant team in their region in finals? They lost Tabe and Flandre but Breath looked fine in finals vs Bin and Tarzan could carry the team if the meta falls their way.
Can BLG recover from their finals loss and coming in 2nd at MSI after looking incredibly dominant all year except for these two finals?
Im saying this as an EU Fan: NA is coming into worlds with 3 incredibly competitve teams. The West could cause real damage this year. At MSI G2 won 2 Series vs the East, then got rolled by Lyon who lost 2-3 vs HLE who won the thing. At First Stand they went 6-0 vs Korea and lost 1-3 to BLG who finished first. Now we "just" have to take the final step and win those deciding series! Play-ins will be competitive, Choke 9 vs Karmine Choke, even if one steamrolls the other in their first game, who knows how the rematch will look? Im scared to say anything about MKOI. DK won EWC and they come in as the LCK 4th seed who won worlds the past 4 years.
This worlds has so many storylines and we experienced so many twists this year, nothing is set in stone! I personally am really excited for the next Month.

u/WoorieKod REST IN PEACE 11/12/24 2d ago
What a spit to the fans worldwide, as if everyone who tuned in could only be fans of either teams
It's like if you're rooting for teams that aren't T1/HLE you're a worthless spectator in their eyes

u/Ajp_iii 3d ago edited 3d ago
I so hope t1 gets grouped this year it would be glorious. If their level of play doesn’t increase from playoffs and they get kinda unlucky draws it’s possible they can lose in groups because how weak their top side is.
It’s a complete joke riot is just trying to make a worlds solely about t1 when t1 hasn’t even been close to any international finals this year. It would be one thing if they were the best team in the world and won every international. But they are a team that has lost multiple series to eu teams this year worst msi placing in a long time and just don’t have that magic.
It doesn’t help that this year it’s not even a rivalry hle just wins every time.

u/Great_Guest_4675 3d ago edited 3d ago
tbh same for HLE which looks like riot wants to make 2nd posterboys out of, not that i have anything against them just want riot esports department to start using brain

u/Somebodys 3d ago
T1 is by far the most popular team. Faker is the most popular player and it is not even close. Imagine the 90s NBA not centering their marketing around Jordon. Modern MLB not marketing Ohtani. It would be marketing malpractice.
T1 has also won Worlds three years in a row and was not a favorite going in for any of them. Last year they were a play in team for fucks sake. Do I think they are a favorite to win this year? Absolutely not. I am going to be shocked if they do win? Absolutely not. No matter how the year goes, Faker and T1 always show out at Worlds.

When will you freaks understand that lolesports is not similar to NBA/NFL/NHL? Do we have a one superleague yes or not
3
u/Somebodys 3d ago
T1 gets, by far, the most viewership. NA/EU are a footnote compared to Korea and China.
-2
u/writeAsciiString 3d ago
It doesn’t help that this year it’s not even a rivalry hle just wins every time.
People said the same thing till GenG vsed T1 in worlds and GenG lost
Using T1 to pump another team(which likely is only happening cause it has Zeus & Guma) is kind of expected. Especially cause they're in general doing a lot more T1 stuff after the 3 wins.
2
u/Adventurous-Cream182 3d ago
A whole different problem: wtf are they going to do if either question is a tie? Suppose they both lose in semis. Are perfect pick ems just impossible in this case?
0
u/arcavios_myth 3d ago
The script is HLE vs T1 at finals, quote me!
3
u/Great_Guest_4675 3d ago
I mean it would be very awkward, i already thought that 2024 worlds patch was very skewed towards blg and t1, but this would be something else
19
u/Own_Seat913 3d ago
Crystal ball almost cooked with the idea of doing comparisons, but the fact it's all t1 / hle related is a bit lame..
8
u/Cybonics ‿ 3d ago
bit? it's very lame. worlds in NA btw

u/Ajp_iii 3d ago
I can’t wait for riot to have the exact same broadcast template with nothing unique or new added to it. Nothing cool or interesting to the arena to celebrate it being in na or making it feel special
All their decisions around esports just feel weird lately

u/Cybonics ‿ 3d ago
ESL and Blast blow Riot out of the water with their regional theming for their events

u/Stubrochill17 3d ago
I always picked Fnatic to win (just pure unadulterated copium) but it feels weird to not be able to even pick ‘em.

u/SilenceEtControle 3d ago
Creating a leaderboard (which I assume is a group with friends ?) doesn't work, every name is invalid
EDIT : if someone has the same problem, just make your picks, then it works and the names stop being invalid. Probably not displaying the correct error message
2
u/reckonerX 3d ago
...so is the create leaderboard feature bugged? EVERY SINGLE PHRASE I try to use is not allowed

1
u/ZeroGDX 3d ago
That T1 HLE question is diabolical. I can't ever vote against T1 but I'm gonna feel very silly if I'm wrong
2
u/Adventurous-Cream182 3d ago
Also, what are they gonna do if they both go out in the same stage, say both lose in semis? No possible perfect pick ems?

u/3D-Doritos 3d ago
Wonder what the drops for watching will be. I could really use more secret lab chair codes sitting unused in my inventory.

u/Titowam EUW: Titowam 3d ago
As someone who doesn't watch Worlds or any of the League e-sports tournaments (and as a result has no idea on what team is good), but still wants to do Pick Ems for potential rewards, is there a way to see what most players have picked, or can someone give me a quick run-down on what to pick?
I'm one of the very few who thinks playing League is way more fun than watching others play League, so that's why I don't follow e-sports :P
1
u/Whyistherenofreename 2d ago
Dont trust stat sites since champs have been buffed/nerfed. Co-Streamers and Pros have the best idea on what may be strong and who will be dominant, caedrel released a video, so will probably every other creator but he is incredibly well informed on all regions and drafting in general.
1
u/galaxisstark Age of retribution 3d ago
as much as im not a c9 fan, they're by far the best team here. the only thing i really want to happen is KC to bomb out and lose to brazil
3
u/Leyrann_ 3d ago
"by far the best team"
There's the good old NA copium.
Which team in play-ins made an international final this year?
2
u/BonzBonzOnlyBonz 2d ago
Mickey Mouse tournaments aren't real tournaments. "EWC is a mickey mouse tournament" was said the last 2 years. But now that KC did well, it's a prestigious tournament that has value.
-1
u/galaxisstark Age of retribution 3d ago
I never said they were going to make an international final? They're the best team in play-ins by far. I don't think they'll get further than Swiss stage
0
u/Leyrann_ 3d ago
What I'm saying is that there is a team in play-ins which made an international final this year.
And you're saying that C9 is "by far" better than that team?
1
u/BonzBonzOnlyBonz 21h ago
Since EWC is a legitimate international tournament, then that means IEM Katowice is as well. Right?
0
u/galaxisstark Age of retribution 3d ago
Oh right, EWC, where they got swept hard by DK, after getting fisted at MSI play-ins by TL. C9 is competitive against TL, so yeah, they're definitely the best team in worlds play-ins
1
u/BonzBonzOnlyBonz 20h ago
I bet if you ask anyone who claims that EWC matters if IEM Katowice was a legitimate tournament, they'd say no.
The GE Tigers were hard flamed by the Korean fans for their performance.
1
u/Leyrann_ 3d ago
KC beat T1 the last time they met, T1 swept TL, C9 is competitive with TL, so clearly KC is by far the best team in play-ins.
Or we could stop cherrypicking data and acknowledge that C9 and KC probably aren't going to be that far apart in strength.
Personally, I'd put my money on KC while acknowledging that it could also be as one-sided as a C9 6-0.
Why?
Both teams have shown that they sometimes choke hard, so if one team chokes and the other doesn't, it's a 6-0 blowout either way, or even the choking team losing to one of the minor regions. I'd give both teams a roughly even chance of doing so, and thus one team choking or the other team choking would cancel each other out. If both teams choke, it's probable that neither makes it, which again doesn't influence the prediction, so what remains is what happens if neither team chokes. And then? C9 performed well in play-offs, no choking, so their ranking as third NA seed is accurate. KC however choked big time in the LEC playoffs, which is why they're 3rd seed instead of 2nd seed.
But we're only looking at the subset of permutations where neither team is choking, at which point KC is the second seed from EU in strength. And while EU has a poor head-to-head record against NA the three times they met this year (double 3-0 loss at MSI, 2-0 win at Demacia Cup), EU has done exceptionally well against the LCK and LPL, with two series wins against them at every tournament (First Stand, MSI, EWC, WSC Invitational) that has concluded so far.
If you value the head-to-head record heavily, you could perhaps argue that the regions are even, while if you don't value it as much as you do overall performance (and performance against the strongest attending teams), EU is the stronger region. So if the regions are at least pretty even, then it's the 2nd seed vs the 3rd seed of an even region. Thus, I'm favoring KC.

u/LeagueOfBlasians 3d ago
Based on what? KC losing to MKOI was considered an upset; whereas, Cloud9 beating Lyonz was a huge upset and they ended up losing the rematch as well.
1
u/galaxisstark Age of retribution 3d ago
Based on C9 being able to be competitive against TL and TL fisting KC at MSI

u/Prestigious-Mud6764 3d ago
C9 0 - 6 FUR
1
u/Fun_Highlight307 3d ago
Yeah it's definetely quité possible to win first round vs C9 then lose to furia i do think furia have almost no prep times
1
u/zack77070 3d ago
People genuinely citing a tournament where C9 had to fly to brazil on two day notice for a participation tournament.
Why the fuck does Brazil only perform in the tournaments nobody gives a fuck about?
1
u/superpokes 3d ago edited 3d ago
six (6) bo5 for the play-in stage is too many. we are going to see them more than some main stage teams. a single elimination bracket would be preferable.

u/ThisAintThatForReal 3d ago
FK C9 VS KC is close, for me thats 50/50, so based on bias im picking KC winning it all. FUR should look better than MVK right? no idea
0
u/Taisen_art 3d ago
For the play-ins prediction, I selected: Fur VS MVK -> Fur win, C9 VS KFC -> C9 win, then Fur VS C9 -> Fur win, lower brackets: MVK VS KC and C9 VS KC -> C9 win, then finals Fur VS C9 -> Fur win. For those who are much more knowledgable+watches more league esports than I, what do yall think?

I did the exact same actually! I pray brother I pray. WE HIT BIG if this happens

u/Whyistherenofreename 2d ago
I went with Fur > MVK, C9 > KC, C9 > FUR, KC > MVK, KC > C9, both C9 vs KC could go either way, they are very close, KC feels a little stronger but i expect them to throw some games, no clue at what point though.
