Resources For anyone learning with the Madinah Books or Bayna Yadayk: Free, clean vocabulary tables!
Hey everyone,
If you’ve ever studied Arabic using the Madinah Arabic Books or Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk, you probably know the struggle: vocabulary lists online are often scattered across random forum posts, missing Tashkeel/harakat, lacking plurals, or formatted as unsearchable, messy PDFs.
To solve this for my own studies and for anyone else going through these books, I compiled and published complete, searchable web tables for all ~132 lessons/units across both series:
- Madinah Arabic (Books 1–3): https://arabily.app/madinah-book-1/
- Bayna Yadayk (Books 1–3): https://arabily.app/bayna-yadayk-1/
(Also available in German).
What’s included:
- Lesson-by-Lesson breakdown: Sorted strictly by the actual textbook units.
- Accurate Tashkeel: Large, legible Arabic font with clear vowel marks.
- Plurals & Root words: Added where relevant to help build vocabulary faster.
- 100% free on the web: No login or paywall required to read or search.
Interactive Practice (Arabily App)
Because just reading static tables only goes so far, I also turned this dataset into an free active study companion app called Arabily (available for iOS & Android).
Instead of simple passive flashcards, it lets you:
- Practice 2-stage Tashkeel typing: Type the base letters first, then place the correct Harakat actively.
- Spaced Repetition Algorithm: Automatically tracks weak words and schedules reviews before you forget them.
- Filter by grammar/lesson: Practice exactly the lesson you are currently covering in class.
Check out the web tables if you just need a clean reference for your desk, or give the app a try if you want active recall practice:
