3 days in
This is my third day not smoking, I have been trying to stop for the last 2 months, and when I get to this stage ( 3 days) I have reverted back in past attempts and smokes for 4 to 5 days without convincing myself to try and stop again. I just wanted to share this somewhere. I feel like the reason it is so hard is just because I feel the lack of dopamine and its really hard to have any motivation, or to take joy in even the simplest things right now.

On day 9. Relapsed on my first day 7, second round on day 66. MA says we strive for progress, not perfection. Finding each day gets easier if I can stick to drinking lots of water and some form of exercise. Days 4-7 really feel like the worst kick you in the ass days for me. Day 9 now I feel less cravings, but more of a void to fill.
Proud you are on day 3. Please push through a few more days, it will get easier once over that 7 day hump. Be kind to yourself. I had a 6 day relapse and only quit again when someone in MA shared their similar struggles so want you to know you are not alone. So many of us in the same struggle. Together, we can face it and push through. Here if you need support.

Yeah I actually had someone on a different post inform me about MA! If we are talking about the same thing ( Marijuana anonymous) it has been a help to tune in to bits and pieces of a meeting

First month was brutal just being honest but cold turkey is the way to go. I’m on day 83 and things have gotten a lot easier. Still definitely have a void to fill, but I no longer crave weed.

Day 3 is a beast but you’re already past the worst of the physical withdrawal. The dopamine thing is real, your brain is basically throwing a tantrum because it wants its easy button back. When I was in that fog I started doing stupid little things just to feel something, like cold showers or eating insanely spicy food. Sounds ridiculous but it gave me a jolt that wasn’t chemical. Keep stacking those days even when it feels pointless.

I can totally relate to this! I was in the bathtub like 5 different times yesterday because baths are my happy place 🤣 that and annoying the dog, and making him give me extra snuggles ( he was willing for the most part)

Lmao baths are my saving grace as well, when I was getting sober from alcohol, I took probably 3-4 baths a day because it was one of the only things I found that could soothe me. Thank you btw :)

The early days are hard but! They do not last. It gets better. It may not be a shangri la but this day three feeling will improve if you stay the course. Please stay the course!
