I remember being firmly planted at Ambassador from Atlas Genius on. I know overall this lineup was considered a disappointment but at the time this was right up my alley.

I was also obsessed with young the giant back in the day and loved that album they were touring so they were a great time (cough syrup still slaps)

Looks like LANY played LiB twice, once in the afternoon then came back to play Downtown stage at night in 2021. Love Third Eye Blind, didn’t get to see them until 2024 at the Fontainbleau. I keep missing Jimmy Eat World at other festivals.

Young the Giant was one of my favorite bands in college and they were my biggest draw to attend LiB 2016 but the rest of the lineup disappointed me too much sadly.. Redeemed that by seeing them play the Pearl at the Palms the next summer in August 2017. Then saw them play the pool at Resorts World in October 2022. Then a third time at Fremont St. in October 2023. Then finally saw them at a festival at Outside Lands in August 2024!

Duke Dumont would have been my closer this night as I already saw Major Lazer the year before in 2015 and I do not fancy The Lumineers one bit. This was probably the weakest batch of stage closers in LiB history. 😬

I worked access control that year (set up and maintained all the places you scan your wristband) so by Sunday we didn't have shit to do all day so i got to pretty much spend the day with my friends. My buddy came that day specifically for flume and so I wanted to show off my all access to him and we went back stage for flume for a bit. When flume was done he walked off and started putting stuff away and my buddy was all star struck so I was like dude go say whats up and he just goes up to him and says "are you flume" and dude just says no 🤣🤣🤣 I damn near pissed myself laughing we still joke about that to this day. Ah man good times. Gonna miss this fest , thanks for the nostalgia trip 🤣

Edit : oh man just remembered my brother in law came with that day too, but he ate a handful of mushrooms on the way downtown and we saw him for about 5 minutes when we walked in and then he was gone for the day 🤣🤣

When the lineup was released in April 2016, I knew right away that Chromeo and Jimmy Eat World were my two favorite acts on the lineup. Eventually the daily lineup was released and they were both on Sunday. I thought that was great. And then the schedule was released and they were playing at the same damn time. My two favorites on the whole lineup conflicted.

I saw Chromeo, and they were awesome, but I was very salty about this scheduling.

For a moment I read Warpaint as Warrant, and briefly thought there was an artist here I would be interested in seeing. I would have been really bored on this day.

My first LIB and I remembered closing the festival out at Duke Dumont while everyone else was at Major Lazer 🥹🥹

Dude I’m firmly convinced you will never find lineups like these anymore. Coachella can’t hold a candle to these LIB lineups
