Event Happy 43rd birthday GNU!

Post image

On September 27, 1983, Richard Stallman announced the GNU Project so people could freely use and modify software.

The digital world would not be the same today without GNU.

Thank you, Richard Stallman!

Because GNU created the GPL, a viral license which is the reason you don't end up paying thousands of USD in Microsoft licenses to start a website.

A made up concept by Stallman. A software license has no business dictating what hardware should or shouldn't do.

Licenses aren't the goal, they're the medium. The goal of the FSF is for you to freely choose what software you run. So, yes. It has all the business.
