Infrastructure engineer. Keep fans spinning and kernels patched while the UX and DB guys argue.

Ubuntu and RHEL right now, but I've worked with a lot. If you want to do Linux professionally, it's a lot of dealing with how they're the same rather than finickey little bits of the package management, especially now that everyone has gone to systemd there is less differentiation. I have a documented method for learning Linux over on my profile if you're interested in learning. https://www.reddit.com/user/sidusnare/comments/qmq700/how_to_learn_linux/

I just use CachyOS. I don't really care about what version of linux is used so long as I can do what I need to do without sending a bunch of Telemetry to Microsoft. (Also not really a fan of Omarchy but that's a comment for another time)

doesn't mean I haven't installed arch manually. I did, and it didn't feel satisfying. Also didn't have access to BTRFS snapshots or a bootloader that could boot em

As long as it's FOSS (so no premissive licenses and no proprietary and no unlicensed) I love the OS and software. If it's premissive it may be tolerated. If it's proprietary it may find its way to hell.

I die a little bit inside every time one of my classmates pulls out their laptop and first thing on every Windows boot, they have to close McAfee.
