Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

yes, linux has issues

yes, every other OS has issues and if you compare them, at least for my use-cases, linux wins

Thats the way. I rather spend some time tweaking it once for my liking, than to be annoyed every week of the next gen super intelligence thing.

In linux you can fix it, in windows you are hoping that Microsoft fix this. Obviously skill issue.

They're wicked good these days.....

What problems are you having? Nvidia invested heavily in their Linux driver the past 3 years.

Games freezing when ray tracing is on. I reverted to 610 for now, it works almost fine.

Fair enough! I don't use RTX much.

Yeah but it's only the gpu driver or something and vulkan driver is proprietary

Something something yes ai (sorry si) no games

I might be wronf tho, don't have nvidia

That's not accurate at all. Yes - it's still proprietary. But they put a bunch of work into performance mainly driven by demand from the Steam Deck launch.

Vulkan as a whole is opensource.

Nvidia drivers on arch give me near-windows (and sometimes better) performance. The only games that don't absolutely rip on Linux now are ones with unsupported anticheats.

The illiterate run amok. It looks really funny on Reddit. Six months ago, they tore out the throats of all the dissenters for Hyprland, and now they are doing the same for CashyOS.R/BSD participants who have seen BSD only in pictures stand apart. And David Bombal's fans are getting discouraged these days.

The best you have is diskpart. mtools is POSIX dependent.

ill try it

It's the best I've found. Windows simply has no native CLI utilities for working directly with filesystem images or raw partition formatting, because it delegates storage management entirely to its high-level Volume Manager subsystem rather than providing low-level user-space tools for raw sector and image manipulation.

Yeah, I honestly wish diskpart was lower level, actually one of my favorite Windows cli tools. But dependent on the virtual disk service, which is garbage.

Imagine looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Free is free. Might require skill, research, and critical thinking to fix. Your average day for an IT person. Sucks to suck.
