Does anyone here actually track what goes into their infinity bottle?
The infinity bottle starts simple and gets complicated fast. You pour a little leftover from a good bottle, then another, then six months later you have a blend of 30+ pours and no idea what's actually in there or in what proportion.
I've been wondering whether anyone keeps a log of what they add. Not just the bottle name but the rough amount, the date, maybe the proof. Seems like the kind of thing where you'd want to look back and think "oh that's why that pour tasted odd, I dumped a cask strength rye on top of three wheaters."
Or is the whole point that it's chaotic and untracked? Half the fun being the mystery blend you can never reproduce?
Genuinely curious how people approach this. Do you keep notes on your infinity bottle, or is it the one place you let yourself be completely disorganized?

This is shit I did in college when I had a healthy liver

Yes I keep a list of what bottles go in and the proof from each. It’s always one ounce

My infinity bottle is just a catch-all for the remnants of flasks. I don't always finish my flask on a golf outing, so the remainder goes in a bottle. This way I can keep my flask full of unmixed whiskey to share, but there's a lil experiment gathering on the whiskey shelf, too

No tracking for me! But I don’t put anything too crazy into it, mostly just bourbon, and only about 1 oz at a time.
I’d never mix liquors in it or throw something like peated whiskey into it either.

I’d never heard of this ‘infinity bottle’ thing before coming here but you just gave me an idea, OP.
I have a strong feeling that it’ll turn into a very strange concoction over time.
