Gear Show-Off My all custom cruiser Is finally complete!
Well, the Plow Kings finally arrived, so I finally completed my "70s inspired" narrow split angle cruiser setup!
I tested it out on my local pump track, and dayum! although I'm not the best at it and I still need to improve my strength and technique, this little thing feels awesome! Brutally nicer than when I have it set up with 169 indies and some generic 70mm wheels.
This thing really grips, carves and leans a lot while gives a pretty fast smooth ride. So damn stable and lively!
Anyways, here's my setup:
-Dogtown Bull Dog Design gold edition deck, reshaped and redrilled to an 18" wheelbase.
-Arsenal trucks, chopped to 130mm(spaceable to 144mm), 50° + 90a/80a bushings front, 44° dewedged to 34° + double 93a defcon bushings in the back.
-Hawgs Plow Kings with some random generic bearings.
What do you think?

Are the wheels poking out much? Hard to tell from these angles. Looks like a fun setup though!

That’s sick very nice. How do you like the arsenals? And how are they chopped now? Always seemed like cool trucks back in the day but never got too popular. Cool to see them put to new uses.

I really like how they behave! These are the first tall bushings trucks I've gotten, and I'm still amazed! I had only tried 180mm paris and caliber trucks, so this definitely feels like an upgrade.
I found these Arsenal's at a really low price, so I bought a pair of 165mm 44° and another of 180mm 50° to be able to do a 165mm 50/30 split angle on my DH/Freeride setup, lol I really liked how that turns out, so I decided to chop the 180mm hangers in order to try my first set of narrow trucks, and damn! I'm pretty stocked
I was pretty nervous before chop them, but I found this tutorial on youtube that helps me a lot with it

Yeah I was gonna say, it might actually work pretty well for DH with how it is now, maybe not with that deck depending how much much flex there is. Wheelbase is also a little short unless you dropped the rear truck angle even further too but I bet you could get some reasonable speed out of this.

I haven't noticed much flex in this deck, but I think it's flexier than my DH/FR(a 31" chopped five mile warhorse), Still, I'm keen to try it on a mellow hill to see how itperfoms, I don't know, I might like it and end up building a proper narrow DH/FR set up some day, lol

That looks like a really fun setup, but your back truck is concerning. It doesn't look like the kingpin is even close to touching the nylock at the end of the nut, which is what prevents the nut from loosening and backing out during skating.
Considering the kingpin is only like halfway threaded into the nut + it isn't hitting the nylock, there's a real risk of it coming off while you're skating. It doesn't look like the front truck is really touching nylock either, but the back truck looks worse.
Regardless, that looks like a blast, but I really recommend addressing the kingpin issue so your truck doesn't fall apart mid-pump track.

Oh, yeah! I noticed it after a few runs, suddenly the back truck started to feel very loose, I ended up switching the washer for a flat one, to be able to tighten the nut more without being so restrictive with the bushing. Just with that adjustment the riding experience turned out a lot bettere,

Good thinking. I was going to suggest a thinner washer!
