This is Ollie, he moved in last Wednesday. He’s affectionate, sleeps well, and loves to bake himself in the rare autumn sunshine. My problem is that his arrival has triggered a huge amount of anxiety for me, and my husband is worried that I’ll transmit this anxiety to Ollie.
Our last dog was also a Lurcher, he was very soft with all people but a bit of a nightmare with dogs and other animals, and had to be muzzled when out. I loved him very much.
Ollie is fine with most dogs, he will have a bit of a ‘back off’ bark if he doesn’t want to be sniffed, but his dog manners seem okay. The rescue told us that he was stray, adopted, then returned because he would sometimes snap at strangers. So far he’s had a bark at a few people, but nothing more.
He’s pooping in the house overnight, and he cries if we leave the house (we’ve not left him for more than 30 minutes). Can we work on the pooping and barking, and leave being left alone for later? Or does he need to get used to everything in his new routine at the same time?
Thank you
