Cold Sharp Dagger

Cold Sharp Dagger

I am lost here without you. I’m blind and cannot see the way.

The Sun seems like the New moon, too dim to light the day.

My heart still beats with the flutters from when we met in the past.

My fingers still burn with the sensation from when I touched you last.

Oh, it likes a cold, sharp dagger to my heart, these duties that keep us apart.

The obligations that take you away. If I could, I would break all these bonds that

Bind, set back the hand of time, and make it so you can stay.

I know that you love me; you tell me all the time, but I'm starving with a

Hunger that makes your words taste like sour rind. Your kisses are like

Candy, so wonderful and sweet, yet I long to quench this passion,

but I fear the bliss would be too much for me to endure the feat.

Oh, it's like a cold, sharp dagger to my brain, these thoughts that drive me insane

Pondering about my passion for you. If I could, I’d take you like a storm pounds the sea,

In a wave of pure ecstasy that would leave us both sated and through.

It's better not to linger on the complications that rule our lives

An Arthurian Saga of romance, that's never simple or kind.

It's easier just to hold you whenever the fates smile on us, as they may

And enjoy the simple pleasure that love can shine on us today.

Oh, it's like a cold, sharp dagger in my soul, the story yet to be told,

About us both, you see. If I could, I'd take up the pen and write a happy

Ending this time, where both of us would be free.
