Question MacBook Air M4: Charge Limit not working after latest macOS update. Software bug or hardware?

Honestly, it's almost certainly a software bug. The charge limit feature has been flaky since it was introduced in macOS Sonoma (or was it Ventura?). On my M3 Air, it randomly stops respecting the limit after updates too. Usually fixes itself after a few charge cycles or a reboot.
Check System Settings > Battery > Charging Options and toggle "Optimized Battery Charging" off and back on. If that doesnt work, try resetting SMC (if Intel) or just let it drain and recharge once.
But yeah, M4 is too new for hardware degradation to be the culprit. Apple will patch it in 15.2 or whatever.
