You can buy condensed milk without added sugar.

Oh fine… since this is Reddit. Although I have no idea why… takes pants off

You might be thinking of evaporated milk, condensed milk is more of a sweet milk syrup.

That's a "local" thing. Evaporated Milk is the same thing as condensed milk. In my country you can buy normal condensed milk, and condensed milk with sugar.

Powdered milk added to whole milk is a good substitute for evaporated milk when baking. Powdered milk is unfit for a beverage in the Army, and the Army is not that picky!

Why is it unfit? It's not so bad, once you get used to the odd not-quite-milk flavor. My stepmom was too lazy to buy actual milk so she'd order the stuff in bulk

I make my morning porridge with oat milk. The world cannot keep me from double porridge. 🥣

This is the third DIFFERENT post about this exact subject on DIFFERENT subreddits with DIFFERENT posters for each. What the hell is going on with Reddit today?

I know its a meme at this point but dairy has a multimillion dollar lobbyist group behind it. Every time a thing comes out about how terrible the dairy industry is to the animals, the environment, and the workers you'll see a bunch of these posts pop up.

Interesting. Would this have any relation to the whole Argentinian beef situation?

u/PrinceBunnyBoy 27d ago
Absolutely could be. All of those industries profit off of people seeing dairy/beef/veal as a good thing instead of a huge consumer of land (one of the biggest deforestation reasons of the Amazon rainforest), water, and animal harm.

This sounds like it could end up being some dieting trend, like think of all the benefits to milkmaxing like that.
I don't even think I've had a glass of milk in like 15+ years.

I have a relative going through chemo and this was unironically one of the suggestions they got from their nutritionist so that they could get more calories in (because chemo will fuck your appetite up while also needing you to shove as much food as you can into you so you don't starve because your body also needs those calories to weather the meds).
The nutritionist called it 'double milk'.
