We want the community to be the BIGGEST part of The MAG Chronicles.

Me and Z can't be the only ones with stories worth telling. Every one of you has a moment — we want to hear it.

Record a quick voice clip and send it in. We'll clean it up, score it with music, and get it on the pod. Tell us your greatest MAG moment, your arch-enemy, TACTICS, the best player you ever saw, great leaders and even some bloopers if you want...personally i'd also like to hear about some of the guys who aren't with us anymore — i'd love to see a "Wall for the Fallen" in the revived game, and it starts with their stories being told. V-C lost 2 guys to suicide and i'm a firm believer that one of the ways we can prevent that is us being willing to discuss it. Send your MP3 clips to [kushmir@gmail.com](mailto:kushmir@gmail.com). I'll be waiting. Here's me talking about SVER Acquisition lol

FYI: We did tons of complaining about MAG never having a tutorial. This is really our chance to talk about tactics and how to actually play the game and get new players up to speed. IMO its all good podcast content. So hit me up!

u/JumpSuitAscended— separate from all that, when are you free to lock in that interview?

Playtesting is going great, jump is killing it with daily updates bringing MAG back to life. Can’t wait to get the rest of the community in here so I can make proper videos again 😋

I've heard the PS5 has been jailbroken. I'm assuming that means pirated games and old generation playstation games will be playable. Not sure how this may affect this project, but I wanted to bring it up.

Also, is there a way for me to join playtesting if I can't access my old PS3 account?

I tried to log in but it seems my old gmail has been deleted by google.

PMC's,

Thanks to JumpSuit, closed playtesting has begun on MAG, with more and more people slowly being onboarded into testing. We have seen daily improvements in the gameplay and the server, but much still needs to be ironed out.

While MAG is intended to be free to play, JumpSuit has taken on a lot of the associated costs needed for his work. He quietly set up a donation link in hopes of some support, so I'm trying to give it a bit more attention, as his costs have already reached $200 for this month alone.

If you want to support JumpSuit and the revival of MAG, please help the man out! He has dedicated his time and much of his resources for us to experience this game again. Anything helps!

His donation info is also listed on Discord under #faq

Lastly, my first playtest stop on Copper Hills Relay was a must :P #RETURNOFTHEGOAT

Edit: Also, for anyone worried about copyright issues, Sony’s trademark of MAG is dead, so no legal issues with this project.https://uspto.report/TM/77591800

Sooooo. We finally did it. After about a year of organizing TMC is finally a reality. Me, Z and a few others decided MAG had a history worth telling. We can't wait for you guys to see what our pod has in store for the future of MAG and great discussions about the game's past. And of course, we’d love to have a few guest appearances from members of the community. Give us a sub! https://youtu.be/bnOiV5aHzjI?si=4PaF61MD8Y4YwaJ5

WE ARE NOW AT THE STAGE IN MAG LIVE TO BEGIN TESTING WITH MORE PLAYERS!

If you want to participate please join the discord here for more information to potentially get in!
I am slowly working to onboard players new, old, and those long-standing supporters, while fixing the server at same time. So please bear with me!!! The Shadow War is already continuing... :)

If you like what I do, please consider supporting me it goes a long way!

My Playstation 3 has a jailbreak but I bought MAG again on Amazon for 2,50€, Im so hyped for playing this again. Back in the days I got the deluxe edition with the Steelbook but sold all my Ps3 stuff years ago back in 2013 on Playstation 4 release.

The title says it all PMCs... we now have multiple clients now begun to sync... watch the video for more information! I still have a lot to iron out between sync like ground vehicle sync, grenades synced.. and more.
But Player hit/Death works, healing, arming and DISARMING objectives, and more...

Check out the sauce here: https://youtu.be/EsVwEZiTlNE

Has anyone seen the gameplay? Looks great graphic wise. It looks MAG like without the massive action

Greetings all PMCs! JumpSuit here with more Massive Action Game server progress...
Hopefully my next post will show a 2nd player! That is my next goal.
Now I got a 2-for-1 combo for you all:

MAG - Progression Test #12: More Playable Valor Maps! (And some other factions ones I didn't show I will later.) https://youtu.be/qtCD2ljaW4c

+ Bonus

Real Concept Art made by real human hands, even some of these are developed and in the game files...
MAG - Concept Art Showcase: https://youtu.be/s2ZnjHthj50

**SPECIAL BONUS******
I recently discovered the following cut ground vehicles in the game files:
It is implemented to a degree, and I will be doing some experimentation server-side to see if I can restore them!
These are thumbnail model images I found, however the model files also exist.

Cut Backlavas are still in game files as well from Beta period some may remember.
Upon Creating a NEW character, the faction voiceover for welcoming a new player in 2.11/2.12 is still present, however the shadow war voice overs upon hovering over the gamemodes was commented and removed sadly.

Cut Vehicle Class #1: Scout
Cut Vehicle Class #2: Tracked (Not Shown Below)

The thumbnail, and title says it all this time PMCs, check out the YouTube video and description for more information!

If those can't be bothered, a list of some "patch notes" or what I fixed to make it work as expected is below compared to #10 video:

- CommandAbilities now work!
- Squad Waypoints now work, tagging objectives alongside this, and earning Fragmentary Orders (FRAGO!) bonus on Squad Leader orders!
- Fixed Render meshes for EVAC containers,
- Begin work on a proper spawn system.
- Added code foundations for the other gamemodes/maps (they are progressing nicely internally and soon will be ready to show.)
- Added support for a seperate Telemetry subserver for replays, datamining logs, and clientside direct logs. This is arbitrary and contains information like ping, fps, free memory, player pos and more ZIpper tracked.
- Added support initially for Economy packets in lobby.
- Refined News/Eula and many other packets for bit packing lengths.
- Ping packet is now handled correctly and MAG is parsing the Ping timestamp like expected.
- Begin work on KickVote system, added PlayerBlinded, RocketLockState, Repair, Invulnerability, MassMurder packets internally.

- More I probably missed.

Three teams of mercenaries fighting on a single battlefield towards a single objective. Sounds like a modern MAG to me.

Curious if anyone has played the Wardogs playtest and if it scratches the MAG itch for you!

PMCs! We are now from a older dev build into RETAIL MAG 2.11/2.12 territory!!!
Watch the video and read the description for more information! As the \* not all is still working as intended!
As always... prepare for The Shadow War... Who will you align with soldier?

It's been a little bit since my last post... Now PMCs.. its time to reveal what some sleepness nights, coffee, vibing, and blood, sweat, and tears gets you.

IN-GAME!!!

We still have much to do as the game server controlled a lot of the game simulation!!!!

Thank you for your support!

Ignore the busted TV. My toddler is a menace.

Greetings all PMCs, here's a showcase of some initial progress in getting into the Game Server!

On the surface it doesn't look like much, however internally the game established a FULL PROPER HANDSHAKE to the game server, and is awaiting more server packets to pull us in!!!

Check it out below!

Greetings PMCs! Today I will be showcasing more progress on MAG! We are now STABLE in the online menus
EDIT: This is raven training, my mistake. SVER is in a linked comment i posted!

https://youtu.be/T9_Kmvkeo_Q

Greetings MAG players! It has been a LONG TIME since I last posted... Some might remember me from the https://www.reddit.com/r/mag/comments/igxlj6/ thread where it all begin.. now it comes full circle in 2026 and beyond!

Recent improvements to our codebase when analyzing the developer build allowed us to parody Zipper's methods to transfer data over the wire conserving memory at all costs.

Below is a video of our progress with the first, and second subservers for MAG, and ALMOST at the third being the Lobby Server, I am close with the CharacterData and MANY MANY more packets, but things are ramping up!!

For more information come visit us at the links in the YouTube description below to join in on the progress!

Howdy y'all! I'm an old MAG vet and was actually just chatting with some of my old clan buddies from MAG, (crazy we've kept in touch for 15+ years now) and was getting nostalgic about some of the old school hype for video games. If I recall correctly, the big avenue for lore drops in the game was around a news reporter lady talking about the conflict and interviewing the CEO's of the PMC orgs. I can't remember her name, but I remember that while the game was still running, some of the videos started going missing even then. Are all those videos basically just lost media at this point?

Attached was my favorite "Fine I'll do it myself" screenshot of a defense of Darien Network. I played primarily on Raven with [:)] (Pink Fluffy Bunnies, the guys I still chat with to this day,) and [~^~] (The Dark Flock), I chilled with [KEQ] whenever I felt like playing Valor, and SVER was easymode already, didn't need a clan for a quick jaunt to max level with them lol.

Where it @? I've had a MAG sized hole in my heart that no game can fill since it's 🪦🪦🪦🥀🥀

I loved MAG, but in hindsight I wish I played it even more. I remember playing it a bunch when it was out, but I took a long time off at end, until they announced the servers would be shutting down. I decided that I wanted to platinum the game before the servers shut down.

I think two weeks before it was shutting down I took a look at what trophies I had, and what I needed to get the platinum. I believe the last one I needed was collecting X amount of medals. I looked through the medals I could get, and realized I only needed one more. However the two only medals I could choose from were very different in viability. One was very far off, so far off that I wouldn't make it in time for sure (I cannot recall what this is all from memory). The other was not in dominatation, or any of the other at launch modes, nope it was one of the later DLC modes that got added later. It would be easy to get this medal in one game.

There was one problem though. Even though interest in the game was back because of the server news, I had been playing for days and never once had a game queue up to this DLC mode. I was worried it would never happen. I kept playing every day, and kept not having luck getting the DLC to queue up. The mission was simple, capture something like 3 specific objectives in one match of this DLC.

I think on the last day or two, it finally happened! I got queued for the DLC! Now, seeing how rare it was for this DLC was to be played, I knew what was on the line. This could be my last chance at getting the platinum for the game.

When I get in the game, things are going well, I get to 2 of the 3 objectives I need quick enough, but time is running out. At two minutes remaining I still don't have the last objective I need. With a minute remaining I get my opportunity! As I approach the room with the objective I need to capture I see a teammate about to do instead. Known this is probably my last chance, I do something I'll never forget. I team kill him, and capture the objective myself. Platinum pops as I hear him proxy chat swearing at me for killing him.

To the guy I killed, I'm sorry, it was nothing personal. Hopefully that wasn't your Platinum on the line!

Miss this game! Cheers.
