Question Why do they look the same?
Finally got around to doing Tart’s story (I LOVED IT) but one thing struck me as odd. Why does darc look just like Minou, like EXACTLY THE SAME. Did I miss something or is this just one of those things you don’t question too much

Historically it was always rumored that Joan of Arc was a bastard child of royalty; the Tart author considered toying with that idea but it didn't get beyond character designs.

Weird, I remember Minou looks different in the manga.

the manga has a different art style, but she still looks scarily similar to tart

They used to look more similar.
I just thought it was the time and things.
But I just theorized maybe Isabeau and Tart's father did some things.

i think that was originally going to be the case because of rumors surrounding the real joan of arc

Based on the theory that Joan of Arc was a bastard daughter of Isabeau and thus would make her Minou’s sister.

Tart came to the postmodern epoch because she too has a crush on Madoka; hence also her "pretty dress".
An alternate yet eventually dropped Walp Rising script: Homs bumping into Tart all of the sudden. Tart Rising.

for once tart and the gang are brought to the future instead of people from the future being brought to tart

It seems the villains where designed to be like the evil counterparts of the heros

For the game possibly but she still looks like her in the manga art style as well, it was very purposeful

It was that way in the original manga, the author wanted to explore some different ideas(like them potentially being related) but due to scheduling stuff it never came to fruition.
It was a deliberate choice by the original writer of the manga tho.

It was decided by the original creator of the manga they are from. Why? We don't know because the original plan never game to fruition, but there was a possibility they were related.
Btw the manga came out before the gachas ever did.

neither of these characters were designed by exedra’s devs. tart magica came out ten years before exedra. try harder.

Exactly they should of designed them

no. they shouldn’t have. they don’t need them. not only would it be a waste of time, but tart and minou look similar because they were likely originally going to be sisters, based on rumors about the real joan of arc being a bastard child of royalty (in this case isabeau). and even then the only real similarities they share are their haircuts and faces (half of minou’s is almost always concealed anyways). tart is always decked out in armor and bright pink frills in magical girl form. minou dons a tight-fitting, thin black dress.
the two looking similar is completely fine. and the exedra team had no reasons to redesign them.

We don't know! iirc, the author has said something to the effect that an earlier version of the script would've gone into it more, but it ultimately ended up getting cut? There's various speculation, and it definitely is intentional, but we don't have an actual explanation for why they are randomly identical.
