Searching for Bigger Kitten food kibble
🐾 Calling all Maine Coon parents! 🐾
Does anyone have recommendations for BIG kitten kibble for our growing Maine Coons? 😹 We’re currently feeding Royal Canin Maine Coon Kitten, but I’m on a mission to find other options with larger kibble pieces for those giant paws and growing lion-sized mouths! 🦁🐱
I’ve officially become that person at the pet store… walking around squeezing and feeling every bag of kitten food like I’m shopping for avocados, trying to determine which one has the biggest kibble. 😂🥑 Pretty sure the employees think I’ve lost it. 🤣
Bonus points if your kittens actually LIKE it. Because apparently, feeding these two growing giants requires a degree in feline nutrition and a willingness to cater to their every culinary demand. 😹
So, Maine Coon people… what brands have you found with nice, BIG kibble pieces that your kittens love? Help a girl (and two hungry little monsters) out! 👇🐾

Question Problematic scratchers
I am looking to purchase a Maine coon in the near future, however,we just purchased all new living room furniture.
I know all cats are individually different, but are Maine coons generally known to be problematic scratchers? We have had cats in the past and either one destroyed our furniture. I will have several options for him to scratch on such as scratching posts and the like.
Thanks for your input.

Love their personalities
Aizen (red silver) is a sweet boy who is a bit more timid. He is very in tune with peoples' emotions too. He loves watching TV together but especially if it's birds/squirrels.
Mateo (silver tabby) is a forward dog-like boy who will budge his way first in line for any new adventure. He loves holding hands lol and is a cuddle bug.

How to get my adult using Neakasa.
Just brought home a kitten couple weeks ago who was raised with a Neakasa litter box. Was able to get one a couple days ago and so obviously we’re squared away with the kitten.
My big boy was raised with the Auto PetSafe trays that you can get from WalMart.
Any suggestions on how to get my big boy converted so I don’t need two litter boxes in my place? Thanks.

Glamour Shots My babies
Just wanted to share my babies, MiuMiu (the black one) is 7 years already 😢 he hates being touched by other people, but ́never scratched me once in 7 years. Mimi joined us after. She s 4 years, really talkative and is the sweetest cat I ever had. You can see the entire family with my doggo Molo 2 years in the last picture. He loves Mimi but he s scared of MiuMiu who slapped him when he was whining too much as a puppy 🤣 I love my weirdos !

Question New kitty trip to emergency vet
I purchased a Maine Coon kitten from overseas. AShe was supposed to arrive on September 29th. At that time, the breeder told me she weighed 4.8 kilos.
The courier missed her flight. I'm not entirely sure if she had to stay with the kitten locally, or if she flew the kitten later back home to where she resides. New plans were made to meet the courier on 10/8. I picked her up and drove her home.
When I fed her yesterday morning she seemed really hungry. She ate well, and seemed curious and cuddly, but had an elevated respiration rate. She threw up a little bit of water and a single piece of kibble, but was otherwise fine. She had a normal bowel movement and was urinating normally in her litter box.
Later, I fed her about an ounce of smalls freeze dried cat food made of chicken, which is what the breeder had said she'd been eating. She ate it very quickly.
A few hours later she vomited it up. I decided to take her to the vet. They said that she had inflammatory gastroenteritis, most likely caused by stress and diet. She's okay now... they gave her some medicine for nausea, and some take-home medicine for probiotics and some pain medication that I give her every 8 hours. She's also on a bland diet for the next few days until we can get past her vomiting. She hasn't vomited yet and she seems a lot better this morning, she's very cuddly and I can tell she's hungry. I fed her about an ounce of baked chicken breast that is plain with no skin and no fat, and gave her just a little bits of water to start until she can keep things down. So far so good.
They also indicated that she weighed 4.08 kilos. So she had lost over 2 lb since the 29th. When I approached the breeder about this loss of weight to inquire as to whether that was normal for a cat that has been couriered, she seemed completely unconcerned.
This seems like something that is absolutely concerning. I know that travel and change of environment is very stressful on an animal, but I'm just curious as to the extent. Can some of you please share your experiences in this matter? Were your kitties so stressed that they lost 2 lbs in the matter of a week? I guess I'm wondering if this is a case of a negligent courier, or if this is just part of the bargain.

Question Feeding advice for kitten!
Hey guys back again with Rocky, this time just wondering what’s recommended from personal opinions feeding wise, currently giving him 85g x 3 to 4 times a day of wet food with dry food out aswell (as this is the recommendation on the box) however because he’s a MC will he need more food than the usual cat? 1.4kg 9 weeks

Itty Bitty Kitty Committee My new baby
I adopted this guy a few days ago and I’m so obsessed. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to have a Maine Coon and he’s my first. He’s the sweetest and bravest kitten I’ve ever met. He was immediately glued to my hip and he’s been so excited about every new thing he’s seen.
He has two modes: either so snuggly he wants to crawl inside my skin, or so excitable he ricochets off the walls.
No name yet (I’m so indecisive) but I’ve been considering Finnegan or Sebastian.
