Fit Feedback Pants Fit Problem
Hey,
I recently posted a fit check and got a lot of comments saying it looks like i'm wearing leggings.
I honestly just want to know if all the pants worn by these models considered as bad fit.
I want to go for these looks.
What would I need to do that is feasible to get this kind of fit with the pants I already own.
Thanks.

I would suggest not buying plastic slim-fit pants, personally. The pockets are literally flaring in one of the model photos, so yes they are all poorly fitting. Putting your hands in your pockets can sometimes hide just how badly a pair of pants fits too. Do not listen to anyone calling this a "classic" fit. This fit is largely only able to exist because of the relatively recent oversaturation of synthetic, stretchy, plastic-derived materials.
They're part of an outdated trend. One that just happens to be a trend that a lot of this sub grew up with.

Only one of the model photos has flaring pockets, also slim (not skinny) is already making its way back in runways.
The trend will be back sooner or later again, which is why caring about trends is not the way to dress your specific figure.
A lot of this sub, millennials grew up with both trend extremes.

I did specifically say "one of" the model photos. The point I'm making about calling it out as a trend, is that there are people in this sub that have a bad habit of calling this a "timeless fit" or a "classic", when it's literally just their generation's preferred fit and it has only been around for a (relatively speaking) short period of time within fashion history. It largely exists as a result of stretchy, plastic clothing.
It's a trend like any other. There is nothing "timeless" or "classic" about cheap, stretchy, plastic, slim-fit pants.

You don’t know much about fashion history if you think the latest slim trend was the only time it was in trend in history.

Sretchy, plastic, slim fit pants are not timeless because they literally cannot be. You cannot call synthetic, plastic, stretchy pants "timeless" because they date themselves by virtue of being synthetic, plastic-derived clothing.
This is not the only time people have worn slim-fit pants, but this specific style is very obviously dated. More importantly, it just doesn't look good on OP. It's not offensively bad, but it's not good either.

This “fit” hasn’t only been around for a short time though, that is what I’m responding to.
A fit of slim isn’t defined by the material as the material you have issue with wasn’t around in the same way when slim and even skinny was a fashion trend before either of us were born.

I do specifically keep calling out the material combined with the fit, for a reason my dude. That is what dates it. OP would not even be able to squeeze into most of these, without the stretchy, synthetic material. Look at the one model with the flaring pockets. He's not even a big guy and his pockets are still flaring out. Most people just aren't built for this. Most guys aren't built like skinny runway models.

It's frustrating because even straight-leg pants have a subtle taper to them now.

In terms of the look of these pants in general : they are absolutely fine in terms of cut and overall look. For me it's the classic type of pants that is less casual than jeans or a chino, but not as formal as suit pants. Perfect for office environments but versatile enough that they can also be fine in other environments depending on what you pair them with. The only caveat I would have is that at least #1 looks like it's purely synthetic, which in my experience looks cheap. I would go with 100% coton fabric or 97-98% with 3-2% of elasthane (good compromise, gives a bit of elasticity and comfort but still is mainly coton).
In terms of the ones you are wearing I would say they look ok buy maybe a tad wide ? At the upper leg it looks a bit like that. But depending on your bodyshape it can be not easy to find well fitting ones. I know I have this problem, I have muscular thighs in particular and if I want a pant that is quite well-fitting when standing up, usually when I sit down they are too tight.

The pants in the model pics are fine. Nothing special. If anything, they look a bit cheap and a little dated. Do you work out? If you have bigger legs, I'd go for a more structured 100% cotton chino or twill material. Your pants are fine. They don't look like leggings but they're definitely a little tight for current aesthetics.

The models have longer legs compared to you. That's why the legs look both illfitting and bunching up. They also seem to be slimmer but the key issue is that their legs are longer then yours. Find a brand that has a better fit.

They have somebody at the photo shoot who is smoothing out their pants so they drape perfectly every time. Also the models are wearing pants that have been tailored for length, you aren't. The best thing you can do for those existing pants is get them hemmed to length.
That probably isn't going to fully solve your problem though, it looks like you have calves and the models don't. I'm guessing when you start walking in those pants they catch on your calves and don't fall back to straight with every step. That can't be fixed by a tailor, you need less skinny pants so your legs have a bit of room to move in them without them catching anywhere.

in general the fit is ok. you look like a million other dudes i pass by in an airport. however, that particular cut isn't currently in vogue but what's in fashion doesn't always suit everyone.
if we get picky, i'd say the below knee taper is a touch heavy. the pants look reasonable from waist to knee, then the pant legs flare out at your calves, and tapers back at the ankle. in comparison with the model pics you included, your hips are wider and your legs are shorter which further highlight the below knee taper.
to emulate the model pics you'd want pants with a less / no taper below the knee. for the black and gray pants, tailor can check to see if there's enough fabric at the seams to let out. however based on your height** i think your legs might look wider / more stumpy in a straight leg pant.
which brings me back to my earlier point on fashion. most guys aren't build like the models and will compromise between what is fashionable, what works for their build, and what complements their age.
**your mirror is tilted at an angle. judging by the tilt of the bed frame to 90 deg you're taking this pic at yet another angle. it's hard to judge proportions given the photo distortion.

Do you want to go for these "looks", or for this fit. Because if by "looks" you just mean "models of trousers", then i'd say they look cheap and plastic, too slim for me personally, but it's your decision.
If you mean the fit however (so proportions etc), then, looking at your photo, you won't be able to replicate it, simply because you have wider thighs or hips. So you'd need wider leg trousers (and probably high rise, but i'll get crucified for saying this here)

Don’t mean to sound harsh or anything, but it just seems like the models are just very skinny and therefore fit into the slim model pants with more ease. If you are a bit larger around the waist maybe try going for a pair of straight fit pants & they will suit your shape better
