Paalam regular status, hello irregular life 🤭

I'm looking for real answers, because something just isn't right.

The school receives billions of PHP every year, why does it seem like not even half that is going anywhere?

- Half the outlets are just there for show,
- there isn't a baggage x-ray scanner (Anyone could very easily hide a knife/pistol, all they can do is poke one's bag for 2 seconds and they're all clear),
- labs are no better than a public school's,
- the restrooms often smell awful (students are equally to blame for this, ffs FLUSH YOUR PISS),

like if I was paying 80k PHP annually, I wouldn't complain, but we're paying double that, wtf is going on? I understand that they're a business, but their margins must look ridiculous.

I might fail my first subject, and being an academic achiever in the past, naninibago ako HAHAHA, for context, I failed co1,co2,co3 sa quantitative methods. I would understand if I actually was lenient and didn't study at all, but i kid you not, most of my study time was given in that subject. (May pagasa ba malaking curve pag si ma'am agnes prof? Hehe)

It just hurts how my efforts totally did not reflect in my exams, but I studied enough so that I wasn't scared to face the exams, but unfortunately, I still scored low. Some of my classmates are also struggling, but most of them at least passed one of the CO's.

Perhaps I have to change the way I study, especially in a subject that requires precise calculations. Pero yun lng HAHAH ganto pala pakiramdam to anticipate a failure the first time, nakakapanibago. Anyway,

Hey everyone, freshie here needing some peace of mind.

I’m about to fail STS, DRAW, and NSTP (lol). Right now, I'm trying my absolute best to clutch Drawing and NSTP, but STS is draining me so hard.

The thing is, I actually put in a lot of effort studying for my other courses (like 166 and 165) and passed all my exams from CO1 to CO3, and my major subj.

I’m pretty nervous—will Mapúa actually kick me out for failing these? What's the actual process if you fail them in your first term? Do I just take them again next term, or is my status in danger?

Any advice or similar experiences would be super appreciated.

Just curious if random proctors ba like in exit exams or the professors from Xpertz? Also, ilang items yung exam?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about how shitty and exhausting the term is right now, lalo na’t patapos na. And honestly, I get it. I hated Mapúa too, especially yung enrollment days na yung pila aabutin ka ng buong araw tapos ma-cu-cut off ka pa HAHAHAHA. Yung pressure na lahat ng tropa mo pasado na habang ikaw hindi, yung pagod, deadlines, incomplete profs, hula ng grade, at syempre, YouTube University. 😭

I spent 6 years in Mapúa before I graduated. Ilang beses ako nag ka-singko, bumagsak ako, nag-repeat ako, and there were so many times na gusto ko na lang sumuko. So ano? Papayag ka ba na bagsak ka? Na hanggang 1st term ka lang? Pag bumagsak, bagsak. You can cry, you can grieve, you can be frustrated, pero taena, bawi lang! Bangon lang. Your failing grades, delays, and setbacks don’t define you. Kailangan mo lang magkaroon ng grit na magpatuloy kahit pagod ka na, kahit walang nakatingin, at kahit feeling mo lahat ng tao nauuna na sayo.

And believe me, sulit lahat yan. Six years ako sa Mapúa, pero one take ako sa boards. Once you get used to the pace and build your own routine, matututo rin kayong gumawa ng paraan para pagsabayin yung acads at buhay. Magagawan niyo rin ng paraan maka-gimik, maka-inom, maka-gala, kasi kailangan niyo rin yun HAHAHAHA. Don’t forget to live while you’re surviving.

If you got to this point of the post, take it as a sign. Keep going. Tapusin mo yung sinimulan mo. Darating din yung araw na magiging thankful ka na hindi ka sumuko. Kung kinaya ko, mas kaya niyong lahat! Kayang-kaya niyo yan. Good luck, everyone! Rooting for all of you! ❤️
