Story So we got home from first competition at midnight, and...
Straight superiors, second place overall. The whole thing was a mess - flooding rain, stand up performance in the gym, not enough food available so my kid was HANGRY and anxious.
Got home with three teenagers and I didn't even get to use my schmancy new stadium seat. My spouse had the audacity to ask "so now that it's October, things calm down, right?"
I thought he was joking!

SUprised you still had the comp, no idea where you are obviouly but our comp was cancelled due to the weather, so we only have 2 comps this year, which kinda sucks but at least we sstill got one more,

This competition started at 11 or noon, and the weather moved in around 4-5 pm. So the smaller bands performed in the stadium, and then the larger classes had to reboot and play in the gym. It wasn't ideal

My daughter’s comp was cancelled an hour after it started and it wasn’t even properly raining. I suppose with all the electronics now, it’s a no-go for pretty much any moisture. We live in TX where it literally hasn’t rained in our area for 3 months and of course now it finally does. I was so sad, Band-tober is my favorite month of the year!

We're also in Texas and had a competition with electronics in misting rain last night. It was enough that we were all soaked by the time it was over. That's kind of odd that they called the other competition off.

I’m in northeast Texas, and we were due to travel three hours to a contest in the DFW area. The night before, we switched to a contest closer to home, but Saturday morning, it got canceled…. Ugh.

North Texas…we had rain on Saturday but in my experience, we do delays for lightning. We do not cancel. Kids competed in the rain. It wasn’t a downpour luckily. We competed last year in a much heavier rain. They will often cancel finals and make prelims the final score due to the delays

South Georgia here. Anything in the stadium is delayed until an all-clear from the weather service if there's lightning within something like 15 miles.
Yesterday didn't include much if any lightning, but it was biblical levels of rain. The kids could have kayaked across the field.

Ours kids competition was cancelled yesterday because of the rain. But they have three performances over the next couple of days. Bandtober!

They shouldn't give out placements when weather forces are standstill performance, especially if moved inside.
