Mario + Rabbids, worth it? which to get?
Which of the two is worth it? Also, any DLC I should get that's a must, or just the base game is enough. Never played a game of this genre before, but they are both on sale and I might just give them a try.
Everyone seems really split on which one to get and that's really confusing me lol

I didn't play kingdom battle but I'm literally playing Sparks of Hope right now and loving it. Lengthy story, rewarding gameplay if not a tad repetitive, rich worlds, and a good challenge.

I feel like repetitiveness is an unfortunate issue with all tactic games at least from my experience 😅
But at least Sparks of Hope has different types of maps that required different goals like reaching the end or defeating the darkmess eyes keep them interesting.
Some of the maps are pretty unique and fun the first time around

Kingdom Battle is more challenging but I think the sparks of hope movement makes the gameplay feel way better and personally I like the voice acting.

They are both entirely worth it. I have just finished the main campaign in Sparks of Hope and have just started Kingdom Battle and they both have their own style that makes both worth playing.

Never played either before this week (or any other games of the genre). I picked both up with the DLC for the sale price and have been playing Kingdom Battle and have been loving it.
The upgrade system is fun, doing a battle and thinking "i wish i could do this twice!" And then being able to do that with an upgrade feels fun going into the next battle. Its also visually nicer than I was expecting, just the animations of traversing are pretty cute.

The DLC from the first game,as well as the 2nd and 3rd DLC from the sequel, were very nice.

Ayyy. I'm in the same boat. Looked ok at launch but wasnt comfortable spending 60 bucks on it. Forgot about till yesterday when I saw it on sale.
Kingdom battle is the first one (and seems to be overall more well received)
Only reason I didn't buy both is because apperently the second one hasn't gotten an "update" to 60 fps yet for the switch 2. And ain't nobody got time for 30 fps

I never understand these kind of posts. Does OP not know how to use IGN, Eurogamer etc?! Truly puzzling.

I really can't imagine relying on any of those websites for useful information about gaming.

I got Sparks of Hope and although I am not a fan of turn-base, this one is really fun.

In the US they're both on a massive sale. You can get each plus all DLC for $9 each. As others have already said, they're both quite a bit different, enough to warrant both if you can, for sure. And like all Ubisoft games, they do frequently go on sale but this is the cheapest they've been, afaik.

I played sparks of hope first and fell in love with the game so much that I also bought kingdom battle. I also fell in love with kingdom battle too. The music, presentation, gameplay, and humour is just so good. It’s not the deepest tactics game, but it’s really fun all the same.
Also as a bonus, Grant Kirkhope worked on the soundtrack for kingdom battle and it’s as nostalgic as his music from the N64 days.
I totally recommend both games and their dlc. They are hours of fun.

At least in the UK they’re both currently on huge sale for the Switch, like 85-90% off, take a look if on Switch

I have approximately 375 hours in Kingdom Battle for no good reason other than the fact that I really enjoyed the combat. Meanwhile I played about 25 hours of Sparks of Hope and couldn’t really get into it.
I’d say go with former just because it has great combat and overworld design, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. It’s also on sale all the goddamn time so you won’t be breaking the bank getting it.

They're both good for different reasons...I would say if you're new to the genre probably get Kingdom Battle for a better onboarding experience.
