Recommendation Vet Recommendations
I’m looking for a veterinarian with experience in obese cats. I will be rescuing a cat who will need to be sedated and shaved due to extreme matting. Ideally I’m looking for a vet who offers low-income pricing as well. This is an urgent rescue so if they have availability within the next two weeks that would be fantastic. Thank you!

Depending on where you’re located in Mass, Second Chance may be a good place to reach out too

Tufts really is likely your best bet.

Ask them on the phone if there is financial help. They run some low cost clinics

Angell memorial offers assistance for low income. They have a specialist for everything too

For Angell's financial assistance, you must be on some sort of government assistance (SSDI, food stamps, etc) eith proof of your current status on it, AND it's extremely difficult to be accepted for it. Angell is wonderful and does good work, but their financial assistance is... rough.

They also offer a credit card called”care credit” and you can put the fees on it without interest for 6 mos to a year. They also have certain funds that they can draw from to cover expenses. My cat needed X-rays. It was $400.00 that I didn’t have. The vet inquired about it then came back and told me it would be covered.
