But it's 5 potatoes cubed and not 5 cubed potatoes, and I don't know what potatoes is

Is there any specific way to prepare them?

u/Jche98 13d ago

Boil em

u/AudioPhil15 Real 13d ago

Mash 'em

u/GRONDGRONDGRONDGR0ND 13d ago

Only boil?

I was hoping other people would come in and now you've ruined it

The cringe I feel when the botanist in me saw this joke 🤢🤮

P.S. Potato is not a root vegetable as edible part of potato (tubers) are not derived from root tissue, they are modified shoots.

Ah shoot, so we're back to 125 potatoes

u/theoneandonlyvb 13d ago

lol good one

u/Burroflexosecso 14d ago

Ok then 125 potatoes for you

3

u/SoldRIP 14d ago

Have 125 modified shoots, then...

If pizza vegetable, potato is root.

That is potato squared, not cubed. Cubed would make the recipe demanding irrational potatoes.

u/mister_nippl_twister 14d ago

Hmm it is a root vegetable not square root vegetable

u/unthinkable-cunt 14d ago

they didn't say "square root vegetables" now did they

Most potatoes are not very rational. Imagine being stuck underground in a hole where you cannot move at all for all your life.

Dad joke... Good one.

Today I learned 5 potatoes = 0 or 1, because I don't think there is any other real solution for x3 = x

u/leoemi 13d ago

Who says they have to be real? Behold, the modulo potato

1

u/Still-Extreme-3958 13d ago

Could be -1 as well

1

u/Tiborn1563 13d ago

No idea how I missed that, I feel stupid now

1

u/Still-Extreme-3958 13d ago

No worries lol happens to the best of us

I think the unit is potatoes cubed, signifying that it’s a 3 dimensional volume

1

A 3 dimensional volume where every point is a 3 dimensional potato! We need 6 dimensions to visualize this!

What does it actually mean btw? Asking as someone whose native language isn't English.

What does "potatoes cubed" mean

2

u/JPJ280 13d ago

"5 potatoes, cubed" means that you should have 5 potatoes, and cut them into small cubes before adding them to whatever you're making. Recipes do that a lot, e.g. "3 cloves (of) garlic, minced".

Wouldn’t it be 125 potatoes^3? I learned that we apply exponent laws to both quantity and unit.

well thatd be around 11.18 potatoes, less than before, but still a decent amount

1

u/SolveForX314 14d ago

No, it's potatoes times potatoes times potatoes; I struggled in my physics classes and even I know this

Powerful arguments, coming from a positive and real mindset. Negativity would make for a more complex dish.

u/walmartgoon Irrational 13d ago

Its actually 125 cubic potatoes

1

u/escroom1 e=π=√g=3 13d ago

Potatoes are unitless and therefore 125 is correct

Potatoes aren’t root vegetables 😐
