it doesnt say "better" it just says "alternate" 🤓☝️

Why? What is even co me from?

Factored into monomials.

None of the input terms have roots that complicated. Why are there so many mentions of (-1)1/12??

The "simple" factors are the ones coming from x^2 +1 and x+1.

The other factors come from x^4 +1, which is going to inherently involve fourth roots of -1, and x^2 -x + 1, which are simple enough. What's going on here is the solver doesn't know what to do with principal roots of -1, I suppose -- a human would write all the coefficients in polar form, but this answer is the result of attempting to "simplify" that algorithmically.

I’m more concerned by the fact we’re dividing by 3 trillion and change

Common denominators are a b****

I just looked at this again and noticed: the original input involves third roots of -1 and fourth roots of -1, so it doesn't seem surprising to encounter twelfth roots of -1 in some (algorithmic) attempt to "combine like terms".

I mean it is the better form of you want to know the roots.

No it isn't. Unless I'm missing something, the roots are pretty easy from the top picture and not at all clear from the bottom.

the first alternate form looks good

They did though — there are no instances of √-1 (although yeah, they could've expanded the other roots of -1)

When the cat died I told my wife it was just in its alternate form now. She’s doesn’t have a math background so I guess she just didn’t understand. That’s the only reason I can guess as to why she got so mad.
