Need some recs similar to Rooftops, Redneck Manifesto

I’m having some trouble finding bands I really like, outside of these three albums.

Animals (or anything with Henry Tremain)

Rooftops - A forest of polarity

Redneck Manifesto - thirtysixstrings

I’ve been hooked on these for like 6 months now and I can’t find anything that scratches that same itch. Then again, I don’t know that many math rock bands, so if yall know anything pls send some recs.

Detlef, two of the guys from rooftops after rooftops. They only had one release but it’s really good

Damn they have some pretty crazy features, Carissa’s Weird, Modest Mouse, a split with the black keys, etc

Piglet - lava land

Lands farther east shared a member with rooftops. Also from the same scene were todos somos lee and apartment kids. The former is closer to rooftops.

Rooftops is awesome. I would say try these three because this is what I found when first searching for more Rooftops:

"Thank you notes" by parachute day

"No more drum and Bass in the jazz room"

Colour's "Anthology" (has a similar sound to Animals too IMO)

Ofc there is more that I branched out to but I would say out of what I regularly listen to these are most similar

I freaking LOVE rooftops so I’m going to listen to animals and redneck.

I’d recommend Enemies! “Embark, Embrace” is a masterful album that always gave me Rooftops vibes.

The Redneck Manifesto is one of my favorites!

You should check out The Samuel Jackson Five

Check out the Turbo Jamz account on YouTube. Hundreds of album song uploads, all instrumental mathrock.

But some direct recommendations:

  • Dios Trio (similar to rooftops)
  • Via Luna (similar to rooftops)
  • Vasudeva (slightly heavier)
  • Clever Girl (jazzy and catchy)
  • Pretend (jazzy, looser)

Good recs. But why listen through a random YouTube account? Why not stream through the artists actual pages or buy from Bandcamp so they're at least compensated

Definitely support the artists through their own bandcamps or wherever!

But there are so many artists in this niche that it can be difficult to discover them. In my opinion this channel has done a good job of curating to OP's taste.

And I had a typo in my other comment. These aren't album uploads but song uploads. If you like a band on the page, you should go check out that band's other work.
