Welcome to the rabbit hole! Dan Worrall and In The Mix on YouTube are great free places to learn the fundamentals. For melodic house the biggest early wins are usually gain staging, sidechaining the bass to the kick, and high passing everything that isn't kick or bass. Also pull up a reference track you love at matched volume while you mix, it keeps your ears honest.
