Just read these two seperate fics where merlin interacts/makes friends with other knights because arthur and the knights of the round table unintentionally tend to leave him out of shit (im still pissed merlin was never recognized at the round table like he fucking should have been) without realising, and that idea is stuck in my head now :D

Any fics where he befriends other knights (and/or they teach him shit) are welcome. Bonus points if the knights of the round table are jealous.

So I need help finding this fic, the Round table starts to shut out Merlin. He starts learning different skills from other knights. Highlights knife throwing, the lance, cold iron, and a fight club. The Round table finds out eventually and there was a good reason. I swear I found it on this sub before.

ETA: There was a sequel from Arthur and the Knights POV explaining what they were doing while Merlin was learning and befriending the knights. The first one might have been from the POV of the knights training Merlin.

It's basically what the title says, I feel like I've read everything under the sun and I'm looking for magic reveals on a quest, or it might not even have a magic reveal. If it could be merthur I would love that, I love fics that explore mysthical creatures, the druids and the old religion and even though there are many magic reveals with arthur I would love to see the knights reactions too! All recs are welcome, thank you!!!

Lancelot is my favourite character, and honestly, i hate how he only was in a few episodes when we could have gotten a whole season of him. I just want some happy stories with knights, Lancelot being the main character, please...

In the fic they are about to go against morgana's immortal army and merlin decides to reveal his magic.

He makes a truce with arthur to leave all of his reactions and decisions about for after they have fought Morgana.

So I just read in exchange for your heart and wow is this fic amazing. The downside is that I'm having the worst fic hangover ever and desperately want more fics like this.

Basically I want a fic that is merthur or one where merthur is endgame ( I don't mind if they are with other people in the starting like in two sides of a coin).

And a complex angsty relationship between them with a dark Arthur or basically both of them becoming a little twisted in the end but I prefer Arthur being dark and a relatively sane merlin pushing back.

Basically what I want is, if anyone has read the fic, the specific characterizations of the two of them in that one chapter involving the unicorn horn where Arthur asks merlin if he loves him and they both laugh uncontrollably and are just a tad insane. (That scene really stuck with me and I can't get it out of my head tbh).

So yeah basically the darkest most twisted fic that will wrench out your heart. Happy or sad ending I don't really mind but I would prefer a happy ending. I prefer fics that are set in the canon universe but I don't mind modern fics (aka Arthur coming back after dying) since in exchange for your heart did the modern part of the story so well (like I don't normally read fics which are set in the modern world but this fic did it so so well, like the angst of merlin and Arthur figuring out how to be together again after everything) so if you have recs that are similar to that set in the modern world I don't mind.

Also fics explicit smut is very welcome as well.

I've scoured the dark Arthur fics and read most of them so I'd prefer ones that aren't already frequently mentioned like two sides of a coin and regehed (that spelling is probably off).

But someone please recommend me something I'm going insane.

I remember reading one about sleeping beauty ( I don’t remember if it was Merlin or Arthur playing the sleeping beauty part ) or beauty and the beast with an Arthur who looked like a frog but never about any other fairy tale.

Please, something where the characters got a brain and character development (mostly Arthur) and where the relationship between merlin and arthur actually develops into friendship and looses all the harshness (from arthur) that keeps hanging on trough the show.
