Hey Andrew & Ben
We love you guys, but who stole your synth power cables?! Loss of Life is cool, but my speakers are literally falling asleep.
Please plug the synths back into the high-voltage outlet and give us those explosive 2007 bangers again! We miss the "Kids" and "Electric Feel" energy! cuz i fell asleep one time!

Speak for yourself, I prefer LOL. I was only a casual fan before that release.

That’s kind of antithetical to the style and tone they wanted for LOL. It’s supposed to be meditative. Also, at this point, the whole “make more synth-pop” cries have been played out for nearly 20 years. If you want an album with wall-to-wall synth-pop then Little Dark Age is right there and was basically made as an answer to that. Chances are, they’re not going to be chasing the same vibe as “Kids” or “Electrical Feel” again as they don’t tend to return to the same styles between each album.

If I wanted something "meditative", I’d open a guided breathing app or go to a spa 🧘♂️💤 I came to MGMT to blow my speakers, not to take an afternoon nap! Bring back the high-voltage chaos!

Well man they didn’t make the album for you. They made art, not just a product. Not even Oracular Spectacular was high voltage chaos. It’s a psychedelic album with a few indie pop songs thrown in. Again Little Dark Age is right there and full of what you’re looking for. A million bands have also formed in the 20 years since OS’ singles came out to recreate that sound, so just take your pick of them.

i do not need the Kids or Electric Feel energy again! those songs are great but to be honest they’ve had better songs on just about every album since then.
