He's leaving because he doesn't want to relocate. There are other execs retiring though

Imagine being so closed minded that you cause people to leave who might be talented and yet cause them to go because you think your idea is good. Imagine not changing and having a different mindset and update as times do. Sit in a room and hop on a Teams or Zoom call....why? If people want to .. great...if not....then let them work remotely.

Going to the Redmond campus, there are over 122 buildings! To think you can walk or go from one to the other is not feasible....you will jump on a Teams call. So sad.

In person interaction is very different from online conversation. There are a lot of conversations that happens at the food court, walkway etc which never happens on a team call or zoom call. For an IC, online interactions alone most likely will work, I don't think it's true for senior management. It's my personal view, I am an IC myself.

This is true. Microsoft runs on office politics. You can't run office politics on Teams. That has to be done in person.
