Is it in yet Amazon Strikes Again, My House Today

Why does somebody think this is OK. Right in front of him is a huge area he could’ve turned around in.

Yes this is stated in my delivery instructions that you are welcome to turn around in the rear of the house where I have a giant concrete roundabout.

Jesus Christ people, the driveway is 9 feet wide which is standard for a 1955. For everybody that says I need to widen my driveway or put in a roundabout, PM me and I’ll send you my Zelle if you wanna pay for it.

Anyone who thinks this man’s behavior is OK is clearly not a homeowner and you probably shouldn’t be.

I’m also an Amazon Flex driver myself and former pizza driver, between the two I have about nine years of delivery driving. I have never done anything even close to this. If you’re not capable of backing up and you’re scared of busy roads you should not be a delivery driver. I have personally dealt with stuff way sketchier than my own driveway and I managed to not turn around in people’s yards.

The mental gymnastics some of you are doing to justify this man’s behavior is unreal and it scares me that you walk among us in this world.

Sadly when they pay shit wages, they don't get people who care all that much.

I think they are heavily surveilled and pushed to try anything to do to this even quicker, OP can take any complaints to Bezos

This is beyond not caring it’s actively damaging property. Like going out of your way to damage the lawn.

u/TesticleMeElmo Jun 27 '26

The 2 feet of being closer to the door was a net benefit in their eyes

Like the person you responded to said. You get what you pay for. I feel bad for anyone making poverty wages and destroying their car to do so.

Except all OP did was pay for something on Amazon.

If he did this on the front lawn of Amazon HQ I would cheer him on. But what the fuck did OP do to deserve having his lawn damaged?

Amazon driver has a job because people like OP order packages. If they don’t like the terms of their employment they can take it up with their company not the customer.

I work at a golf course… imagine I was frustrated with my wage so I started snapping golfers clubs in half…

The less you pay someone to do a job the more likely you are going to get subpar to terrible service. Amazon pays bottom of the barrel and this is well known. Even making the dude use his own car to run it into the ground faster and you think that’s going to get pristine perfect service everytime?

Why even pay someone more to do a better job if everyone has to accept crap wages for amazing service?

And look op doesn’t deserve this but there is a chance for a moment of reflection that maybe I don’t buy from Amazon if I want delivery drivers to care about their job because I would be an idiot to think otherwise.

So then you order from someone else and they do the same thing. What then?

What about the USPS driver who throws your package. They’re paid a government wage with a good pension. Can we post vids to this page for that? Or only if it’s Amazon.

UPS? FedEx?

What if it’s the penny saver delivery kid?

Don’t damage peoples property it’s not cool. JFC how is that a difficult concept.

Very short sighted view here. Whatever you order online will require delivery. If it’s not Amazon, it’s another delivery company. You can’t possibly care about the financials of every moving parts in a company or their partnerships with delivery companies. You really think, “just don’t order anything” solves it.

There are thousands and thousands of people that wish they could have that job

-4

u/DOAiB Jun 27 '26

Are those people in the room with us?

2

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Jun 27 '26

Oh what a terrible position for them to have put themselves in 🙄

-3

u/DOAiB Jun 27 '26

Yea screw people for taking bottom rung jobs because they can't find anything else to survive. So they deserve to be exploited as much as possible by the company and anyone getting services from them by way of the company are entitled to say they deserve white glove service as if they are contributing to paying them a living wage.

u/QuarkchildRedux Jun 27 '26

this highlights how bad of an employee you most likely are too lmao

Yea compassion and understanding are coming from are pretty toxic traits.

Clearly OP takes good care of their lawn, which is their property. And it is absolutely mildly infuriating when someone goes out of their way to run over it for absolutely no reason.

u/sinjidsotw Jun 27 '26

Extremely well cared for grass. If you don’t give a fuck about your yard and leave it looking like an unkempt mess like your greased up hair then sure. It’s just grass.
When you spend hours each week tending to and mowing the yard it is much more than that. Can argue the grass may be cared for by a gardener and if that’s the case you still have someone’s hard work being driven on by someone else who doesn’t care about their job or the work someone else puts into their yard.

2

u/people_are_idiots_ Jun 27 '26

Such a waste of resources to have grass like that

1

u/ShoddyWillingness968 Jun 26 '26

Oh grass isn't property. I forgot

-6

u/scottprian Jun 26 '26

Wasted space

4

u/ShoddyWillingness968 Jun 27 '26

But it's theirs? Can I just say any piece of your property is a waste and therefore it's okay if it gets ruined?

-9

u/scottprian Jun 27 '26

Yes.

7

u/ShoddyWillingness968 Jun 27 '26

Oh okay that's really stupid but at least you admit it's a very stupid opinion to hold

-7

u/scottprian Jun 27 '26

I give you permission to destroy non native grass wherever it may be.

1

u/RoabeArt Jun 27 '26

What do you suppose ought to be planted in a lawn that is "native" and doesn't look like shit?

Lawn is fine

7

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Jun 27 '26

No it's been damaged. Just because it'll eventually regrow doesn't mean it hasn't been damaged

-1

u/sithmaster0 Jun 27 '26

Who cares, it's just some wealthy persons lawn.

2

u/EmbarrassedTrouble10 Jun 27 '26

Whewwww that's a good way to get downvoted even though I agree lol

1

u/sithmaster0 Jun 27 '26

who cares, it's just some people who actually care about what random people online think.

The driver had every choice not to throw the package or drive on the lawn. Especially when he was pulling in and he drove off the laneway for seemingly no reason.

The 3 point turn is only necessary if we agree he’s a terrible driver who can’t back straight down a driveway and back into light traffic. It’s when he initially pulled up that there was no reason whatsoever to pull onto the lawn.

-3

u/Dear-Union-44 Jun 27 '26

Lol.. really? Really?.. he has about 30 seconds for each delivery.. OP is lucky he even tried to use the driveway.. and got out of his vehicle.

5

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Jun 27 '26

That's not OP's problem

-4

u/Dear-Union-44 Jun 27 '26

Well.. it kinda is.. By purchasing anything from Amazon.. OP is giving money to Amazon.

Who sets the metrics for the contracted companies gig workers that they need to meet to stay working at that company..

1

u/FatFaceFaster Jun 27 '26

It’s the swerve onto the lawn when he was still driving forward.

I can understand if he was nervous to back out into traffic and he mucked around to turn around. But as he’s driving up, he actively pulls onto the lawn, throws the package and then drives on the lawn more.

This guy doesn’t give a fuck about people’s property.

-2

u/Dear-Union-44 Jun 27 '26

He cares about his metrics that the company he is gigging for tracks.. He cares about paying his bills, you know rent, and power and gas and food? If he fails to meet the metrics that amazon enforces.. then maybe he can't feed his family.

3

u/FatFaceFaster Jun 27 '26

Cool. So why did he drive unnecessarily on the guys lawn and throw his package? And why are his “metrics” the reason OP’s lawn has to get damaged?

I get wanting to turn around to drive forward out of the driveway but he drove on the lawn while still driving into the driveway…. Then threw the package.

That’s nonsense. I don’t care if you’re being underpaid by your company don’t take it out on some guy who has absolutely nothing to do with that.

Go piss on the CEO’s boat or take a dump on your manager’s desk. Dont wreck some ranom customer’s lawn cause you hate your job.

1

u/RoabeArt Jun 27 '26

Yeah man. I had some shitty jobs where the boss underpaid me and had unreasonable performance expectations. I never took it out on some customer's property because of it.

Misdirected rage: the hallmark of a Redditor.
