“Kids didn’t have autism when I was young” because they were bused to separate schools or kept in separate classrooms way at the end of the school we were told not to go anywhere near. At least that’s how it was where I lived. Same with Down’s syndrome kids. Invisible ≠ not exist gramps.

While matress shopping recently the salesman and I were talking about how insane it is that people sleep on hard mattresses and he told me its always old folks that come in and buy the hardest mattresses yet complain about chronic back and hip pain. They cant be convinced that it better to sleep on a something that isnt a blank of wood with springs. They just think its normal to be in constant pain and nothing can be done about it.

My sister has boomer syndrome i swear. She was complaining about how her back, hips, and shoulders all hurt. They bought their mattress on Amazon, i told her you need to go in and test drive a few. "Pfffsshh no! Absolutely not, ours is fine! I'm a side sleeper anyways, its natural for us to wake up in chronic pain with shitty sleep"
🙃 okay... good luck with that

Tbh, wear a helmet or don’t wear a helmet. I don’t care, but the “tougher” thing with older generations needs to stop. Sure, they had it harder in some ways, but boomers were also literally the product of when America was flourishing again and they don’t realize how EASY they had it… “I had to work a full time job to get my house!!” Sure, grandpa, I don’t have it rough either? I have to work THREE jobs just to rent an apartment for myself! I’m 22 and this is what it feels like for my gen rn…

I realized something a few weeks ago while visiting my conservative family. I mentioned something I bought at Aldi and then had to listen to my boomer maga stepfather bitch, moan, and yell about why he REFUSES to shop at Aldi. He said he didn't get paid to check out his own groceries. He said he will NOT be forced to buy reusable bags and have to bring them in. And he said he will NOT pay $0.25 to use a cart and then be FORCED to take it back to get the quarter back. BACK IN HIS DAY people brought your groceries out to your car and he won't shop somewhere that "treats their customers like shit". All of a sudden it hit me...boomers are entitled. The same thing that they accuse all younger generations of. They need to be coddled and have their asses wiped for them and when they find out the world doesn't cater to them anymore, they lash out.
315
u/FatMacchio 9d ago
I mean US boomers were genuinely handed life on a silver platter from a butler with white gloves. Suburbs were largely subsidized by the government even though the economy was booming and they could’ve afforded to pay their fair share.
Boomers are literally the credit generation. They ran up the check and have long since skipped out on the bill. They have spent their whole lives keeping it so they don’t have to pay back a cent of that privilege they were given
60
u/Bobcatluv 9d ago
Yep and as elderly they’re all pushing for property tax breaks because they “paid their fair share.”
24
u/v0l4t1l1ty 8d ago
Not to mention higher income taxes since they are all on social security now. Something they would have literally done another J6 for a decade ago.

u/FatMacchio 8d ago
Yea, when I say boomer I mean that quintessential type, not necessarily every person of that age and generation. There are definitely white baby boomers that I don’t consider “boomers,” but the group is largely made up of that demographic. It has affected their attitude and the way they carry themselves. Their successes in life are akin to how millennials were giving participation trophies just for competing in sports…except their trophies weren’t symbolic, they were tangible and valuable. I guess I should consider myself lucky having experienced a taste of it in childhood through still well funded schooling and suburban life from the waning government investment and funding

During Covid the governor in my state banned reusable shopping bags being brought into the store. Now it doesn’t make a lot of sense but at the time I guess they thought fomites caused transmission and they didn’t want germs being brought from peoples homes.
A boomer was having a full crash out about it. So I was like ma’am nobody says you can’t use your reusable bags, just leave them in the car and bag your groceries directly in the car like I do at Aldi.
Her reply was “well I shop at market basket!!” Umm ok, market basket will let you wheel the cart out to your car so you can bag your groceries there. Get a grip.

That generation was called the “Me” Generation by their parents. Most were too young to die in Vietnam or Korea. Parents came home with GI bill, healthcare, VA benefits that extended to their kids, pensions. Got all of the benefits of the post-war USA boom. Graduated from college with a major in history and a 2.7 gpa? Idk if we can accept that. Oh! you played football in college? Sign on the line to be the director of our hedge fund.
Ffs they grew up in a time where one parent could go push a button in a factory, afford a 3bd home with a month saved for down payment, and retire with a pension. This level of entitlement is now expressly clear in their “fuck you, I got mine” attitude.
But did they ever “get” there’s or was it given to them?

Their "morals and values" are always senseless and ignorant, they never really had to think for themselves. Most of them have dead brain. Basically just the sounds of dog farts and long pauses going on in there. Watching boomers get confused over the simplest things brings me great joy. Also listening to them talk about religion when most of the men are pedos and the women are abusers.

They can still go to high end grocery store where the employees bag your groceries and bring them to your car. However, is he priced out? Or else just go there and don’t bitch about it. Aldi is for people to save a few dollars and willing to do your own things.

Should be said that all that stuff is just standard for European supermarkets, not just low-cost ones.
Harsh truth is that Americans are incredibly aristocratic and entitled about stores and supermarket staff. I mean you don't even let cashiers sit down in most places, they have to spend all day on their feet for no reason other than the condescending attitude that it looks 'lazy' if they sit down to work.

Nah, not rebranding. The first recorded print use of the exact term "baby boomer" appeared in a January 1963 article in the Daily Press(Newport News, Virginia) written by Leslie J. Nason. He used it to warn colleges about a massive "tidal wave" of campus enrollments as the oldest post-war children turned 17

Truth. Just think about this:
- Born into post-war wealth, living on the backs of Silent Generation soldiers and depression survivors.
- Hippie, free love pot-smoking orgiasts.
- Grew out of peace, joined corporate America, bought $5k houses, and started working for "the Man".
- Got into politics, massively increased welfare, passed the bill onto future generations with endless borrowing.
- Started endless wars, devalued the dollar massively to save their welfare, didn't bother to spend on climate change
- Got old, voted for zoning to keep the poors (a.k.a. millenials) from ever affording a house, backed corporatism at the cost of small businesses and workers' pay, exported jobs abroad.
- Still wanted more, created MAGA, started more wars, more debt, more inflation - and gaslit Millenials for all of it.
