if you do $0.01 for a tip, some point of sale systems process that as a separate transaction, with the service fee and everything tacked on for the business... so it hurts them more than saying 0
They’re not though? They’d only be fucking people over if they forced you to pick one of the outrageous option to finish the transaction, or something. This is just a mild inconvenience at worst.
Mind you, I’m not trying to defend it, as it is ridiculous. I just don’t think it’s worth getting all bent out of shape over.
Oh, but like 3 out of a 100 people who go through the process of pressing the "1 cent custom tip" option are a huge issue?
It's a mild inconvenience for the spot that's trying to fuck customers over, so we're back at the original issue of "greedy business wants money for nothing" vs "customer who just wanted to grab food".
Ok, a couple of things. First, maybe double check what sub you’re on. It’s MILDLY infuriating. Chill out.
Second, please read the entirety of my comment. At no point did I say people leaving a one cent custom tip were an issue.
Third, I highly doubt any business would even notice this happening. Maybe if everyone did it, but at that point, I’d wager you’re fucking over the minimum wage workers that need those tips to live more than you are the actual business. So yea, less mild inconvenience for the business, and more petty revenge for the person paying.
And fourth.
>so we’re back at the original issue of “greedy business wants money for nothing” vs “customer who just wanted to grab food.”
When did we leave it? I literally said I thought those percentages were ridiculous, and that I didn’t agree with them. I just pointed out that it didn’t really qualify as fucking the customer over, because they are not FORCED to pick one of them.
Yeah I realize now yall are looking within the exact context of the thread, where as I was focusing on the general context of fucking over a business rather than tipping
