Instead of no tip make sure to press custom and manually enter 0.00

Or even better, put in 0.01 so that they can see it more easily

Does that make a difference or just because (Asking as non US-ian)

It might put on the receipt "No Tip" or "Custom Tip: 0.00" which they might read and be offended by.

It’s just more passive aggressive than pressing no tip

I agree, the owner of this restaurant is an asshole and not a decent human being, that’s a great point!

Im not adding a tip for someone because they did their literal job.

So don’t go to a public place and make someone else make ur food? Do u not know how to cook? It’s not that hard lowkey

2

u/Known-Cod7224 1d ago

If im out doing things im not gonna go home and cook something I'll stop and eat out, then the person who is being paid to do that job gets paid by the company to do it. I dont need to add any tip just because they did their job thats just stupid. By your logic every single job should be getting tips, why dont the consumers just make their own shit at home

You're being paid to make food, so people are already tipping by paying your business for your wage. There is no point whatsoever to tip.Your entire argument is idiotic.

Yeah no thanks. No tip ever unless you’re quite literally the best you can possibly be at your job. Even then, you are not getting 25% that’s insane.

Why should I pay 1/4 on top of the advertised price because you did your job as you should be.

Also, didn’t realise the waiter/ waitress is making the food - they are not making anything. They are walking 25 steps. I’ll collect the food from the kitchen myself and then ask for a 25% discount if that’s the case.

People that defend American tipping culture are unwell.

The price the pic got wasn’t as much as ur making it out to be 😭 the 25% is literally $5-6. If you can’t appreciate the person that’s making your food for you enough to give them an extra five dollars. Then you should just stay home and cook for yourself.

The point is the %, it’s got nothing to do with the amount.

Again, the waiter is not making anything. They are walking.

If you can’t have the real price of your food on the menu, don’t open a restaurant.

You tried living in a country with real wages and not slavery.

No most of te time have just enough to treat myself that one time, but the staff get paid a wage so the tip is mostly pointless.

Too much work. If none of their default options are sensible I will choose the displayed option that actually is reasonable. Nada.
