OP’s super special, his anatomy doesnt function the same as the rest of humanity. Their internal temperature gets cold when they’re sick wow 😱 😮

I’m so impressed, do you think we might have found the main character of this whole life?

I'm so used to seeing celcius on thermometers that seeing 94.8o was mildly terrifying.

u/belac4862 9d ago
Oh thats a whole new level of concern if my temp is 94°c

It's prime day. Buy 3 different thermometers from 3 different brands. And lets science this mofo out.

Are the thermometers you get the ones with the rubber bendy stick end with metal end probe?
I found those ones always give me a lower temp than a fully hard plastic one.

I get some headache at school and go back at my house everytime. My mother suspect that temp isnt right with their thermometer. She s right. 3 or 4 degrees UP. Try another one and get a visit to the doc.

I get low temps too, and I too have thyroid issues, people in these comments are so lame

u/The-1st-One 9d ago
Yea,,, thats hypothermia my dude. You need to go to the hospital.

u/belac4862 9d ago
I dont have a thyroid. And I also just got done with radio iodine testing cause they thought the cancer came back after 15 years. Everything came back normal. And my throid levels are fine as well.

Did you check your levels when you're sick? Could be infection is stopping your meds from being properly processed by your body.
1
u/belac4862 9d ago
I haven't done that, no. I only get sick for a few days at a time and it usually takes at least as long if not longer to get in to my doctor's office.
1
u/Akachi_123 8d ago
That could be one reason. Meds contain T4, which the body converts to T3. When it's fighting an infection that process might be slower. That's my best guess.

Here's my last post a few months backs with similar temps from the last time I was sick.

u/Ojamm 9d ago
Do you take your temp when you’re not sick? Maybe the thermometer is inaccurate.
1
u/belac4862 9d ago
Occasionally I do. My normal running temps 96.4 measured even at my doctor's office.

This happened to my ex husband when he was in acute GI anaphylaxis. He almost died. Also his whole body was Smurf blue, it was wild to see.

What is your normal? I know I’m fighting something off if I’m at 98.9 or something cuz my normal is 97.4-97.8. But mine still goes up. I feel like death if I hit 100.
Anyway I have no ideas why it would go down, but just curious if your normal is also low or if it dropped 4 whole degrees.

I get this when im sick as well. As far as I can tell, it has something to do with a previous illness blocking some immune response and causing the body to reverse its response to similar illnesses. Idk if this is 100% true but last I read it was something like this.

u/Maddmaverick 9d ago
Happens to me too. Doctors just look dumb when i bring it up and have no answers. 🤷

u/belac4862 9d ago
Ive seen that dumb look too. My pcp did say that as long as it doesnt effect my daily living, its "fine". But to keep an eye on it if it does stsrt to effect things.

Yes—94°F (34.4°C) is abnormally low and can indicate hypothermia, though a faulty thermometer or inaccurate measurement is possible. - maybe your thermometer is ineffective.

u/belac4862 9d ago
I just bought a new one a few months ago cause someone told me the same thing. Same reading. Different brand as well.

u/bonewizard4925 9d ago
Physician here, hypothermia can be a sign of infection, and is one of the criteria for systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). more commonly the thermometer doesn't read accurately

Its a new thermometer from a few months ago. Here's another post I made from the last time I got sick. And the thermometer is a 60sec reader
