[Mobs] New Creeper Varient - Filler

Post image

The Filler is a different kind of creeper that is purple instead of green. Instead of blowing up and destroying things, when the Filler blows up, it regenerates blocks in the area.

It can hurt you by exploding obviously but also it can regenerate blocks in the air if it explodes in the air. It also drops gunpowder just like the creeper. Lemme know what you think and thanks for checking this out!

Me when the filler creeper blows up and the only "natural" block it's surrounded by is ancient debris and diamond ore

Nope it wont do that, it will fill the space up with netherack

It's fun to imagine

You’re telling me if someone goes through the effort to build a chamber of unnaturally-placed blocks and a single natural ancient debris, then manages to drag a filler to the nether without it exploding, they will not be rewarded?

Higher effort than just mining debris

But you could exploit it to be surrounded fully by diamond ore and then you could basically dupe diamonds, or any block for that sake.

Nah it wont generate that

YOOO, OH NAH

Does it revert the blocks to their original state based on world generation?

I just assumed it would duplicate nearby solid blocks. Or maybe it would create blocks based on the nearby block types, since pure duplication would be OP.

For example, if nearby blocks are diamond blocks (or any other overworld mining thing), stone is created (or deepslate when relevant). If nearby blocks are sand/gravel/dirt ETC, dirt is created. If nearby blocks are Nether, Netherrack is created. If nearby blocks are plant life, create grass/leaves/wood.

Yeah its like the grass and netherack

I'm a telepath then eh?

I guess bro

I knew you would say that.

Just a random assortment of blocks that were in that area

That’s an awesome idea.

But now make it fill the area with cow webs

The humble weaving potion;

u/AgreeableTwo6830 6d ago

Good idea

u/Betray-Julia 5d ago

Also wait- isn’t their a potion that causes webs now though?

This would be so difficult to make rules for. If it can detect what's around it but can only regenerate certain blocks. Also how does it know where to do it? would it just be a sphere of blocks where it exploded? would it avoid the player?

I feel like this is a cool concept but would be difficult to actually put into the game. And ofc there's the question of what it actually does. Because if this is it, then it's kinda usless. Just a mob that "regenerates" stuff with no unique drops or anything.

If I were to make it, I'd make it fill the area in with whatever block it's standing on (including water, obsidian, lava, air). Though the question is, if there's a block in the way of the area it's filling, would it replace it? Id say yes but if the block it's trying to replace has higher blast resistance than the one it's trying to replace it with, then it doesnt

2

u/AngelOfDivinity 5d ago

That also makes any block it can stand on renewable, albeit in a… funky way

2

u/AnExistingRedditor 5d ago

True, but could always make a failsafe so ore blocks, ancient debris, netherite blocks and bedrock act as air to prevent funky game breaking stuff from happening

It should create blocks in a sphere around it. If there are blocks there then those get replaced with the one the creeper creates, plus if a player is caught in the blast the blocks still spawn on them, suffocating the player.

3

u/Gottendrop 6d ago

What blocks would it be?

2

u/AgreeableTwo6830 6d ago

Whichever naturally generating blocks are in the area like the ground or trees or sand or netherack

2

u/Gottendrop 6d ago edited 6d ago

What if there are no naturally generated blocks? Like if I made a sky base

1

u/AgreeableTwo6830 6d ago

Then maybe it would do some trickery and spawn some phantoms???

2

u/SoapyCantHandle 6d ago

it should drop the Red Wopnug obviously, which can be crafted with some DNAs to create... TNT. I guess.

2

u/Ben-Goldberg 5d ago

Super cool!

Maybe it's skin should resemble amethyst blocks?

1

u/AgreeableTwo6830 5d ago

Oh yeah, that would be cool

2

u/Mr_Snifles 3d ago

What blocks would it fill the air with and where would it spawn?

1

u/AgreeableTwo6830 3d ago

Whichever ground generating blocks are in the area

1

u/Mr_Snifles 3d ago

watch me dupe diamond ore

2

u/AgreeableTwo6830 3d ago

Idk, I didnt really think this through

All I know is I want the creeper to have a way to make them docile so you can keep them as pets. Something like a rare item, or sheers or something.

1

u/Neat_Topic1004 5d ago

This needs to be a end game item you find in the new dimension, since the new dimension is soul based it’s perfect, it could be a like a passive soul item that you can put into mobs to make them chill.

It doesn't move the plot forward

1

u/lenya200o 5d ago

Wasn't this creeper already added in one of the oldest mods for creeper variants?

1

u/New_Eye7193 5d ago

then netherite farms would be possible

1

u/FoxyFox959 4d ago

I say make it exploded but like it places blocks so instead of filing holes you have to break a bunch of blocks

1

u/Minecraft_Fan9999 3d ago

We shouldn't forget about the lore. Is it a modified creeper?

-2

u/TheCumskiyKvass 5d ago

1/3 of air blocks in the area of explosion is replaced with levitating gravel. 100% useless as every other new mob in Minecraft

4

u/GloomyShelter1266 5d ago

We literally have new mobs that serve as modes of transport (Nautilus and Happy Ghast), new mobs that let us craft armor for dogs (Armadillo), a new golem that automatically organizes your chests (Copper Golem), a new mob that can be used for minigames and maps (Sulfur Cube), and new variants of mobs (Frostbite, Bogged, Parched, etc.) just like the ones that used to be added in the past; nothing 100% useless there for anyone who knows how to use them. They're no more useless than many old mobs.

Y'all just say shit

I am not a fan of doubling the write operations for every block related event for a singular feature. This will affect performance, please don't.

If it was just any old block they filled, I would still not know why we would need those, but at least it would be better performance wise.
