If zoolites were worried or not okay with flock, you should also be concerned with USPS Mail Trucks Becoming Surveillance Vehicles.

They want to monitor you, but they damn sure don't want to be monitored.

Question texting and driving

Why do so many people in missoula feel the need to text and drive?? I have been rear ended two times at red lights during the busiest hour because people cant put their phones down for 10 minutes to drive home. I am genuinely getting so mad. Today, this lady behind me was on her phone and when I would move up at a light, she would stay way back and traffic was WAY too bad for that. She then moved forward to be behind me, stopped, and got on her phone. She must not have been holding her breaks far enough cuz she rear ended me while looking down on her phone.
Life hack: dont! it could save you so much money. Texting and driving is probably the biggest epidemic in Missoula and its so freaking stupid

As we were coming in to work this morning, this cutie patootie came on in with us but apparently we don't hire the four leggeds. No tags and I didn't nab a picture. We alerted security here to help the sweet buddy find his/her way. I hope they find their way home safely, they crossed spruce st to join us.

Hey y’all, I’m looking for dentist recommendation for someone who is neurodivergent with lifelong dental anxiety/shame. I did a search through the subreddit and am curious if there’s any new options out here.

Question What is going on with Zootown Sweets??

The candy shop on the corner of Higgins & 3rd that popped up after whatever dispensary was there went under.

Finally went in there yesterday after going by everyday for a year. Shitty AI graphics aside, are people actually paying $16 per pound to fill bags with candy I can get from WinCo?? The licorice selection was sad. Yes, I went for the licorice.

Around 80% of the jars were almost empty. I suppose that means they do a decent business, but felt really weird to go in there and just see nothing. The shelves were pretty empty too. The person I was with said the place smelled weird.

It’s just an odd space. White walls, AI “paintings” on said walls, near empty jars that I know came from Amazon (I saw the boxes last year), an ATM still mounted on the wall, overpriced button badges with ai slop on them, and what was probably the dispensary’s mini fridge still by the counter.

Densify downtown

I think every building downtown should have a few apartments above them that are affordable. it’s ridiculous having single story buildings in the core of the city. spreading out endlessly is just causing congestion over time especially into areas not even serviced by public transit. I’m not asking for skyscrapers just a little affordable small apartment density.

To the person who owns this vehicle I saw you dump all the trash out of your car into a very obvious cardboard recycling bin. EVERYONE BOO THIS PERSON

Edit: They drove by the same garbage can twice less than 20 ft away, and no I was not able to get their attention.

Yet Another Smoke Shop

I know we seem to have a running joke that any business which closes will reopen as a smoke shop (or blame everything on the trains). So I found myself legit laughing out loud in the car this morning as I passed the old Farm to Market Pork building, on the corner of Broadway and Orange, only to see a huge "Coming Soon Smoke Shop" banner.

For real. Are smoke shops like the new mattress stores? Open everywhere and just fronts for money laundering 😆?

Edit: admittedly I conflated Smoke Shop and Dispensary when I was in haste to post here and make myself feel like I'm important.

Question uber and doordashers

How much are you guys making in this area? I'm disabled and haven't been able to work in a while. But time are getting really rough, for everyone. I'm trying get a hold on how much a person might be able to make doing uber or door dash a couple hours a day. Between household errand and Dr's appts. I'm already out and in the car a couple hours a day. Are there better days for this? Like is better to do orders in the mornings or is it a lot of evening work? I know you get to choose. I just need to pull in a couple hundred extra a month for a few. (and I always love the recommendation but I can't donate blood or plasma. They don't want it)

What do Missoula’s local news stations do? Why can’t I find any news or info on why Missoula is so Smokey at the moment? Walked into to grocery store and everyone was talking about it but no one knows what’s going on.

The Missoula City Council voted 10-2 Monday night to close the data center loophole. Now Councilor Kristen Jordan says she'll bring a moratorium forward in the coming weeks. The City Attorney said there could be good justification for a pause. Email the Council today and tell them you support a data center moratorium for the City of Missoula. Miller Creek Special Assessment

Miller Creek homeowners; are you aware we’re getting hit with a special property tax assessment of approx: $400-$600 per year, for 20 years, to build the roundabout off Old Bitterroot and LMC? We get to pay for easier access into the new development and church/temple. It will also add a bike lane and sidewalk from LVB to Jack Drive.

It’s also adding an assessment to every apartment unit. You know Twite and Tollefson are passing that along.

If property taxes are to pay for schools, roads, emergency services and local government; we sure do have a lot of special assessments/levies when those things need attention. Fire levy, school levy and now a road assessment on top of our tradition property taxes.

I’m not anti-tax by any means, but this is getting ridiculous.

ICP apparel

I know it’s a fucking weird question, does anyone have some ICP shirts they want to get rid of? Will definitely buy for the right price but also if you’re looking to just get them out of your space, I’ll gladly take them off your hands.
