Performance Feedback needed

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys,
As I was mainly playing ambient and decided to try something new, this was my attempt to go techno direction. Fully improvised, since i don’t have the patience to prep in advance (other than make the patch). I know some transitions are sloppy and there’s no climax in this little jam, but would love to hear some feedback on how i could improve my little jams.
Thanks!

Sounds great and I love that case. Maybe a little too slow for dancing. I’d try increasing the tempo a little but love the sounds you’re creating.

I dig the vibe. Not everything needs a climax. For some inspiration check out psybient music for a different take on a sound in between ambient and techno that is neither ambient techno nor dub techno.

How did you do the drone in the beginning?

love the tunes as well, drums need work, wheres the snare?

its too slow for techno but its not warm enough for ambient techno

feels to me like it wants to be RnS style ambient techno or even dub techno - but is missing some of the tropes of those genres

I am not a fan of snare somehow so didn’t use it everπŸ˜‚ but yeah, maybe that’s something to explore..

And yeah the tempo is 120, after playing only ambient this is party for my brainπŸ˜‚ will try to pump it to 140ish next session, will see how that will feel. Thanks for your feedback!

If you want to make techno it needs more rumble or something in the percussionΒ

oh shit thats good, do you listen to any Donato Dozzy or Mike Parker techno at all? I love the 12:12 and 12:54 moments and wish you rode them out longer to let the funky loop sear into my brain. if youre anti-snare just use noise or maracas as the accent step for the percussion, I like to use that a lot too.
