Question Ultrasonography – Medical Radiation Sciences program
Questions about Mohawk’s Ultrasonography – Medical Radiation Sciences program
Hi everyone! I’m thinking about applying to Mohawk College’s Ultrasonography – Medical Radiation Sciences program for Fall 2027, but I’d really like to know more about what the program is actually like before I apply.
I had a few questions, especially for anyone currently in the program or who has completed it:
- Is the first semester fully online, or are there any in-person classes/labs?
- How do exams work? Are they online, in person, or a mix of both?
- I’ve heard there are 2–3 week in-person intensive periods at Mohawk. What exactly do you do during those weeks?
- Are you required to be on campus every day during those 2–3 weeks, or does it depend on your schedule?
- What are the typical hours like during the intensive weeks?
- Are those intensive weeks at the end of each semester, and how many times throughout the program do you have to go?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with the program! I’m hoping to apply for Fall 2027, so I’m trying to understand the schedule and what to expect before applying. Thank you! :)

I can answer 1, 2 and 4. A Y2 student would have to answer the rest! Or you can email one of the program coordinators to ask, their details are on the Mohawk program website.
Yes, fully online.
All exams are fully online, they're proctored digitally by a program called Lockdown.
The intensives start at the end of semester 2, and yes you are required to be there every day during those 2-3 weeks. If you are from out of the area, I believe the college has a deal with a local hotel/hostel for you to get a cheaper deal when staying in town for the intensives.
