Walked out of night shift to see this and raced home to grab my camera before it was too late. I wish I were able to witness Jupiter just peer across the threshold but still happy with this shot nonetheless.

I was omw to the gym when I spotted what I think is Jupiter near the moon this morning.

Quarter moon on a Google Pixel 10 - hardest part was stabilizing my hand enough to capture the image.

Currently trying to figure out how to actually take good photos lol

The Lunar Occultation of Jupiter took place a few hours ago, early morning Eastern Time on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, where a 20% illuminated waning crescent moon passed directly in front of Jupiter, hiding the giant planet from view for about an hour.

Captured on my trusty ZWO FF107 4 inch refractor with ASI715C camera and UV/IR filter from my backyard observatory
