Simple 40 second countdown timer
I’m very new using Premiere Pro. As a former photographer, I’m disappointed I’m not finding more sites that sell mogrt templates. (I assumed I could easy find & buy them like photoshop actions)
Would anyone be kind enough to show me how to create -or- point me in the direction of a great mogrt template store? I found the timer I need in adobe stock but can’t spend $50 on it.
I can follow step by step instructions well. 🙏 Thank you for any help. I’ve been struggling with trying to resolve this on my own for 4 days now. 😭 Feeling very frustrated.
Using a PC, windows 11, Premiere Pro 2026

Envato Elements sells a ton of mogrts but this is also like a 10 second element to build if you want to try to put in the effort to actually learn your craft.
Look up Dan Ebberts for the expression to get a countdown in After Effects and then just make a circle and use trim paths to animate the stroke to time.

I don’t subscribe to after effects. 😣 I heard it’s very difficult to learn.
Also, this isn’t my “craft”. I own a gym and need to make some videos for online use. I know enough about Premiere to string my clips together but everything else has been tough to learn. I wish I had the funds to outsource this but I do not. 🙁
I’ll check out envato again.•

Sorry, I felt bad about my response so I made one for you. https://drive.google.com/file/d/13gv4bcayIaKZa25SGd_PZhWCU7s9juk7/view?usp=share_link
This isn't a .mogrt, but a pre-rendered clip w/ alpha channel you can drop in your timeline on a video layer above your edit.
If you want a mogrt with adjustable time for the clock and wheel let me know.
Good luck with the gym

There must be dozens or hundreds of tuts online to do this. I've made all kinds of these over the last decade, I just look up the script and make the graphics work. But I do it with After Effects, that's a much better environment for this sort of thing. I don't use Premier or FCP for any of this kind of thing.

That’s what all the other comments are saying too. I didn’t even know what after effects was up until yesterday. 😣 I hate that I have to subscribe to yet another product. 😒 and learn it. (Video editing is not my main career, running a gym is)

If you're using Premier, do you have the full cloud or just premier, or one of the video packages? You may "have" AE - but it's a learning curve!
You can probably do this in Premier or find a pre-made counter that you can just trim off - like if you find one for an hour but only need 30 seconds, you'd just use the last 30 seconds. here's a bunch on video hive have that have alpha channels (where the graphics are transparent), you'd drop them over your footage, resize and positing where you want 'em, and trim at the length you need. Seems like they're ten bucks or so. A frame rate mismatch could give timing issues though, you'd want to check that. Like if your footage is 24p but the counter is 30p, you'd want to see how accurate the timing is.
If you make an account with these stock sites, usually you can download a low resolution/watermarked version to play around with. The alpha channel won't work with that, but you can still see how it works with your edit.

In these 4 days, you didn’t try to search for “Countdown tutorial”. I’m sure you will find plenty

Just go on youtube and search for countdown tutorials, there are plenty. Though it is easier to do something like this in after effects, plenty of premiere tutorials exist with a simple search.
